I'm from Vancouver and want to travel around my own country. I haven't seen much and wondered what I should?

Since you are in Vancouver, you are not too far from the famous Canadian Rockies and the Banff National Park. That is a very beautiful region, a very popular resort for Canadians and attraction for visitors and tourists. Lake Louis is right there high on the Rockies. Have a nice time !

I agree! I lived and worked in Banff for 2 months last year. It was beautiful with lots of outdoor activities. The town is too touristy for me with lots of australians... more than canadians.

Last summer I visited Vancouver, Vancouver Island and Powell River. If I had the chance to go back to Canada I would be off to see Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia. I would also like to see cities like Montreal, Ottawa and Quebec. Another lovely place would be the Rocky Mountains and the Great Lake of Louise. I think that traveling across Canada by train would be an excellent idea. If you want an exciting journey you might like to travel up to Prince George by train.

I'm so glad you enjoyed Canada so much. I'm from Vancouver originally. I've spent the past 6 months traveling and working. I've lived in Banff Alberta, Glacier National Park in BC, and Carmacks in the Yukon. I've seen Lake LOuise and the lived in the Rocky Mountains. I've also seen the northern lights and walked across a frozen lake. I'm driving back up to the yukon with my car which will be fun because I'll get to see northern bc and a little more of the yukon. In the summer I hope to explore the rest of the Yukon and check out Alaska too. The first week of June I'm doing a road trip from vancouver to saskatchewan. I too would really like to see PEI and Nova Scotia. ITs hard to find a job out there because the job market has been soo bad lately. I'm also doing a road trip to the Burning Man festival in Nevada in September. I'm going to check out a National Park in California on my way down.

You have seen more of Canada than I have! Once long ago I had planned to go from the Northwestern US through a bit of Canada and on up to Alaska on a trip, but traffic was turned back by a huge forest fire. So I went to Seattle instead, and then down the coast.

Seattle is very similar to Vancouver. Thanks for responding. I was hoping some of my fellow Canadians would have some ideas.

How much of British Columbia have you seen? I love it and would like to spend more time there - it's my favorite part of Canada. Have a good vehicle if you're going to drive around Canada - the roads can get lonely and you can get stuck easily, mechanically or by a wild animal accident. Cell phones do not work very well in either. Although B.C. is my favorite part of Canada, I would love to venture up to Alaska and/or go straight across to the east coast. I would like to visit Nova Scotia. Montreal is overdone and I don't want to go back there, but if you've never been and big cities are what you like, then you should probably drop in.

I've seen alot of BC. I've lived here all my life. My family would go on Camping trips every year until I was 14. Pretty much you name it and I've been there. I currently have family in: Vernon Kelowna Kamloops Golden Nakusp Just last summer I lived and worked in Glacier National Park. Its so beautiful! I recommend everyone check it out.. some amasing hiking for every level. I also visited kamloops, kelowna, golden, salmo, nakusp, nelson, vancouver, and revelstoke last summer. I'm about to embark on a road trip from Vancouver to Carmacks in the Yukon. I'll be checking out Kamloops, Prince George, Hudson Hope, FOrt st.johns, LIard hot springs, and watson lake. I hope since I'm so close to alaska working in the yukon I'll do a visit this summer. I'd love to go visit nova scotia and pei. I've heard they are beautiful! I've been to montreal once but wasnt really my bag either. I really like being out in nature. Are you from Canada?

You live in a nice part of the world. I would really like to see the island and spend some time there as well as some of the coastal areas. Come for visit us in Ottawa. Of course it helps to have an interest in government. You can always get a tour of the house of commons where you can shout your head off or just walk around and see how the regular folks live. It is diverse.
