I had ordered some supplies for my son. The shipment was delayed for who knows why.. It said something about an "emergency beyond UPS control" but the weather wasn't bad so I have no idea what the delay was. SInce it was delayed I had to purchase somemore briefs because of the snow storm coming in. I didn't want to run out! I usually buy extra supplies locally at a pharmacy and had found they are cheaper when I order them on line. But they ship so slow! So I ran by Sam's yesterday and just checked and they are by far cheaper than anywhere I have seen!! I was so excited! I was finally happy for the delay! Ever been happy when something didn't work out at first just to work out better in the end??

I remember a few years back when I sold something on Ebay Philippines, I think it was a set of WWII emergency bank notes, since it was just in the Philippines and the buyer was a few provinces away, it was expected to arrive in a day after I received payment and mailed his item and I was pretty sure I sent it before the cut off time. The problem came because there was a typhoon and the whole central Luzon was waist or knee deep of water, the buyer kept calling me and asking for his purchase despite my giving him the tracking number already and it says "package in transit", I was scared out of my wits because he might give me a negative and I wanted to keep my 100%( to date still 100%), he kept calling and on the last call I heard somebody say "it's here" and I felt relieved, he still gave me a positive

Oh man, that was close!! I am very glad that it all worked out for the best in the end though! Thank goodness he was patient enough to not rate your business until after he had recieved the package!

I guess it was not just impatience because at that time I had a low rating like a yellow starand online auction was new to the Philippines, guess he had doubts, the same way I doubted when I made my first online purchase. Most Filipinos are easy to talk to especially when they already have what they want in their hands and it was so easy to ran a pleasant conversation after that and discuss the floods

Sometimes things happen. We have had weather issues that I know another person had problems getting a UPS shipment where it needed to go in time. (It may have been weather at the other end)I have had things work out well in the end several times. I had ordered some clothes. I got the first shipment and it was just what I wanted where I new the next package would be a different size so I just had it returned without any hassle at my end. If I hadn't gotten the first package like I did I would have had a big hassle opening the other one, finding it the wrong size, having to take it down to the new UPS office. Worked out great!

Awesome! I wish my son's hand braces had worked out like that. Instead I had to buy both because I didn't know which box was which! lol! - I know it wasn't weather on the other end because it was already in my city.. no telling what it was!

Many times in my life I know that I can relate to this one. There are times when it seems like you get frustrated when something like this happens and then you continue to look elsewhere and find the same thing about the same price or cheaper and ends up making it all worth while in the end. I am Glad you were able to get this problem solved for now, and maybe will stick to Sams from now on?

Yeah, that's happened to me once or twice.. though I'm such an impatient person I typically do not find I have many delays in things. I like to have things immediately instead of waiting for it to ship from somewhere.

Hiya macdingo, Very frustrating to order things like that and they take ages to get there on top. I have had experiences like that. But no I have never seen the situation get better after either. The packets were late all the time and I did not get any further with them at all and no better solution worked out at all. Just the luck of the game I suppose. You seem to have done very well though that´s a good thing for you.

Thats a very good example of positive thinking arising out of a situation. Sometimes it happens so that we are sad for sometime but at the end it turns out to be more fruitful, like what happened with your delay. Same thing has happened with me as well. I was waiting for the joining date of cruise lines in march, but my name did not feature. So I was sad for sometime. I joined the ship in may and then I came to know that people who joined in march had to work for 15 hours instead of 10 as they were the pre opening team. I was saved. So anything happens, it happens for good.

Man I tell you what, I live out here in Kansas, and we have been buried under feet of snow! Maybe the place the items were shipping from was really hit by bad weather, even though it wasnt so bad in your area. It sucks to have to wait on a package, but I just want to state for the record that I am sick of snow! LOL! Im so ready for it to be over
