More than Being a Tourist

Based from a french film, this remake of the movie was more to cater for the English speaking world west of Paris. It has its fair share of excitement and it is not easy to anticipate what will actually happen next. I do not see a great screen chemistry between Depp and Jolie. If at all, it seemed contrived and artificial. It is almost akin to two fish out of water! The other players be them, the nefarious murderous Shaw and his henchmen or the MI 5 operatives hardly make a dent to the movie not were menacing enough to put the needed punch into the movie. Looking back, except for that last bit of twist which was unexpected but done not too believably so,the movie,"The Tourist" lacks depth. The only thing that I appreciated in the movie is the beauty of Angelina Jolie and the magnificence of Venice. No wonder, Angelina went into depression after the movie failed to reach her expectations at the box office. This is definitely not in the same league as SALT!
