Do you do take out? Do you make your own food? When I am home alone, I usually just make very quick meal - boil chicken + some veggies + rice or some ham and cheese sandwiches; I seldom to take out, because I feel like if I do take out once, I will rely on it and it will be another expenses to spend plusit is not healthy to eat out all the time. Hot soup + buttered bread is a good idea as well for one person. I like to just put everything on a big plate or a bowl so I can sit on the couch with my baby and still surf on the internet. What about you?

When I'm alone at home, I mean really alone like no one else to dine with, I will make the simplest meal I can make. Steam food is simple. I usually just steam the chicken part like wing or thigh. Then when it already cook I will put some vege on the steamer and turn off the stove a let the steam inside the steamer cook the vege. The rice I will cook at automatic electric rice cooker. Or sometimes I just cut a cucumber into slcies. Add in shallot, chilies, achovies and add in soy sauce, chili sauce and oyster sauce. It will like black cucmber slad. i will just eat this with my rice. It will be very simple as long as I am full.

That's what I do, steam or boil the food, it's quick and I won't make the plate greasy, so I save the time to scrub the plate as well!~

Well, very seldom am I really home alone to where I have to fend for myself unless it is right before I head off to work and then if I am hungry I usually just fix me a quick sandwhich. But if my husband is out of town, and I am stuck making myself a meal it is usually something quick and easy as it is just me. One of my favorites continues to be either a can of chili, or some souped up minute rice as well.

When i go out to go to work i take food from home along with me. When i go out but just for awhile i take along something to snack on so i wont need to buy anything outside. Like trail mix or something. I ride the city bus so even a short trip takes awhile.

That saves a lot when you bring food with you to go out instead of eating out, I used to do that sometimes when I was at work.

I hate paying for food like that becaus eI know I can make the same thing (or better) for like nothing at home... So ther other thing is when I dine out, I like to order something that I can't or don't know how to make at home, makes me feel it worths a lot more!

Yes, i do that too. Order stuff i dont know how to make. But would like to know. Another thing about eating out is you never know what a disgruntaled under paid employees may do. Ive worked ina lot of food places and didnt like what i saw going on inside them. Not only food service but meat factories. Neither is too clean althought they hide that stuff from food inspectors. You could get fired for reporting things to inspectors.

Hi, I definitely won't be alone at home as I am taking care of my son full-time.so when there is only me and my son at home, I will cook some simple dishes for both of us for lunch time,of course, for dinner, most of the time I will cook complete dishes as my husband will be back home by then. I do believe that home-cooked meal is definitely more healthy than dine out, that is why we seldom dine out, unless there is special occasion, then we will be out for either lunch or dinner.

When I am alone I really do not care to prepare and cook a full meal as I am one who cooks way too much and leftovers for one is not that much fun, as I hate to waste food. So I could simply pour a bowl of cereal at whatever time of the day. Or I can boil a couple eggs with a piece of toast and find it very filling.

Wow! It's good for you that you have time to prepare for such food. I am a student and I am really busy with many things. Also, I am living with my family so more often than not, I have companion at home. But if alone, I usually ate comfort food such as junk food and ice cream. I also love drinking flavored beverages such as ice tea. But since I am on a diet these days, I just crave for fruits. :-)

My husband does most of the cooking and I am a big lover of leftovers so I try to nibble something left in the fridge if I'm home alone. I also have these frozen tamales that I love, so if I need a quick meal for just me, I am always up for those. YUM!

Sometimes it is really no fun to consider eating alone. If I were to be alone, I would make do with either one of the following: 1. Bread and Coffee 2. Go to the food center and grab some food (e.g. rice or noodles) 3. Cook an instant noodle or really considering fasting for the meal...but usually ends up with eating unhealthy snacks. Hahaha.

Hi everyone! I'm actually no good at cooking nor even know how to prepare one. So I just grab some from a store or buy at a fastfood restaurant. It's sometimes inconvenient because it will cost you more but there's nothing else I could do. This is the reason why I want to learn how to cook or prepare my own meal one day.

I usually will just eat a sandwich that is cold. Or I may eat leftovers from the day before. I tend to warm up foods more when I am eating alone.
