how to make my profile picture move?

okay, I've just changed my profile picture to an animated gif (took me about five hours to find a software that can easily turn avi files into animated gifs). If I click my profile it indeed works but in comments it's still a snap-shot. But I've seen it work for others. So how can I change it to be animated in comments, too ? Perhaps it depends on file size or image dimensions?

There's a size limit after which t becomes a snap and it also might be limited by the file size so look it up and resize. Mine moves

What a coincidence and i also checked my picture to see if it's really 60x60 So you saw my discussionthanks for congrats. There aren't that many users that have animated picture but i think it's a nice touch. I see yours works now and next time someone asks you'll be able to help as i was today. Have a great day

now that's crazy. When I read John's response the first thing I did was check someone's profile pic that is animated. Guess which one it was? Yours! No, not here. I saw it on the mainpage where you started a thread about winning 120€. Congrats btw!

Hi stk, You can use the gif reseizer here: http://www.ashongsoft.com/product/gif-resizer.html The animation size should only be 60 x 60 or less. Anything bigger will not work so have some fun!

cool, thx! Will see if I change my pic later as the birds would become too small. Again, super fast responses! Cheers

I love animated pics, I used to love sending emails with lots of animation and then one day I realized they didn't move anymore, it was a sad day for me when microsoft stopped animation within emails, I have been told it was for security reasons, to do with the codes I believe...I love animation.

yes, I think there was a problem that image files could contain viruses. But I can still receive animated gifs in my email (I use Windows Mail). Maybe you have to adjust settings btw, yours is very nice :-)

that's great! You know, I like those animated gifs. They remind me a bit of those little funny figures in old jump'n'run computer games that would start moving and making hand signals if you stay passive

From what I know, you should choose an animated picture with the size 60x60 pixels and below. Anything larger than that won't work.

There is a 'gif-resizer' which I think you can find if you search for it which will make it smaller and it will then move.

I see, thank you John! Is there also a file size limit? @ mysdianait thank you for the info. The prob would be that the animated gif would become too small in my case. The birds would look very small. Maybe I'll change it again later.
