I am now 6months pregnant and my husband's sisters are making a fuss to start buying things for the baby. Because my husband is busy taking care of my daily needs that he can't go buy some things and he doesn't have any idea what to buy(My doc advise me to have a bed rest to avoid miscarriage) I'm surfing on the net on things that are most important to buy especially cheap ones. Any moms can help me out there? even though I know what are baby things, I just can't get what's the top list

diapers...lots and lots and lots of diapers. Having a place for the baby to sleep is important. This can be a crib or a bassinet. The problem with a bassinet is that they out grow it quickly. Bottles, and bottle brushes. People tend to go overboard with clothing. a dozen or so sleepers and you should be set for clothing. A carseat...depending on laws and situation.

i'm not a mom, but i'm a dad of two... so, i think you need to stick on that list: - diapers - diapers - diapers. and i mention the diapers??? :D seriously, you will spend a lot of money buying diapers... my shopping list was, for 4 or 5 years with diapers (big pack) and milk on top...

1. a cot for your baby to sleep in 2. bedding for this cot 3. if bottle feeding: six bottles 4. if bottle feeding a formula: these are not necessary if feeding naturally 5. baby clothes: pop up at the bottom vests and sleep suits 6. a changing mat and a packet of newborn diapers 7. a toy suitable for a newborn baby 8. a buggy suitable for a newborn baby: it will be a lay back one I always buy 0 to 3 months clothing. Sometimes it is possible to buy a pack of 10 sleep suits cheaply. Such clothing makes a diaper change easy. Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy and the birth of your baby boy or baby girl.

When I first got pregnant, I was wondering what else I really need for my fist baby. Do you do baby shower in your country? We do that here, we register at the store, then people buy what you want according to the list at the store that you registered. I think the basica things will be: -crb -stroller -carseat(if you have a car) -onesies(buy plenty) -blanket And there is a lot more to it like more clothes, bibs, pacifier but you can simply start with the above then buy the rest towards the end of your pregnancy. Good luck!! I have just become a mom and it is great to have your own baby, labor is painful but it's gonna worth it

Hi dear, I am thinking in the way of our orthodox family person. Normally, I remember, if there is an elderly women in a home, they won't allow to think in such a way. They warn everybody saying that do not make any precaution or shopping or purchases or any plans or ideas about such things. Once the lady got delivered, we can get everything within 1 hrs. time and only after the delivery, you can think and buy. Though it is an old custom and now-a-days no one think in such a way. This is mainly because in the earlier times, it was not sure that all the delivery become successful and a lot of miscarriage incidents were happened. Once we plan and purchase everything and finally something inappropriate happens, the mom cannot stand such a situation so the elders advice not to think of such things. However, in your case, you already got a lot of suggestions and go for the best one with your interest and consideration. But don't go for any cheap things as it will hurt children with the cheap items that may hurt them. Best of luck and regards, Thank-s

i'm also having a thought of this. will i successfully deliver my baby or not? thoughts like this kept on popping into my mind ever since I knew that i'm pregnant. But I want to clear my heads of negative vibes. So I kept talking to my baby "hang in there, few more months you'll be out of the world. Mom and dad will see you and take care of you." And of course, a daily sincere talk to God. I know we'll be alright. Well, we haven't bought anything yet. We're still in the process of saving for my labor. It's just that I get carried over my in-laws fuss about this. Thanks =)

hi ceres31, congratulations. I understand how you feel since I was in that very same situation when I was still pregnant. My baby is not 6 months old and a very healthy one. The elders told me not to splurge so much on baby things since she will be growing so fast you will never notice. And they were true!!! Most of my baby's clothes no longer fit her in just two months. Just make sure you have a few sets of baby cloths and nappies (cloth nappies are far better than commercial diaper to spare you of rashes) you're good. Just enjoy every second you have with your newborn. Once you see your precious baby, nothing in this world will matter ever for you.

Congratulations and god luck with your baby. You usually end up getting a number of things you don't really need or use. I think You will need a thermometer, an aspirator, a few receiving blankets, a couple of heaver blankets. Little under shirts are necessary as well as some type of pjs.It is really easy to buy some things that you don't really need. If you are going to bottle feed your baby ten you need a sterilizer or you can jut boil the bottle in a large pan. Don't get plastic bottles as they are not really safe for you little one. Chemicals can leach into the formula. Get as many of the baby clothes at thrift stores because they out grow the clothes almost as soon as you bring them home. The hard part is know just how many clothes you are going to need because they do out grow them so fast.

clothes, blanket, milk bottles are the things needed to take care your baby. make sure that they have prepared enough so they won't make any trouble when you need them. don't forget to check your baby to the doctor every week when she/he was a new baby born

First babies seem to need everything. they need car seats, diapers, clothing and definitely a crib to sleep in. All of the other things come along that they need to. As long as you have the necessities and a healthy baby, you will have a good start.

If you have prepare the basic things such as baby clothes, mittens, and cloth diapers, you can also prepare some feeding bottles in case you can't breatfed. A bassinet is also advisable and if your budget allows it. Keeping the baby warm during cold nights and keeping the baby cool during warm days, should be on your list.

I think they said it all, a reminder when buying baby clothes, mittens, booties - do not over buy. Buy a couple of baby clothes, like 3-5 pairs. Because sooner or later it won't fit him/her anymore. Babies grow so fast and you can use the money for buying additional baby needs.
