Have you done something irrational out of rage before? How did it make you feel? Embarrassed? Did you regret it?

I have gotten enraged by things in my life. I have since gotten on medication which helps me and my mood. It doesn't let the anxiety get out of whack like I used to have happen. I rarely act totally irrational and get enraged. I do have a Irish temper though so I do get upset at times but not like I used to.

I really try to be as rational as I can be. Sure I have done things in my past that I can not necessarily say I am proud of but it was those things that made me who I try to be each day. Rationally sane.

I agree... they may be signs of things we really want to change. How we deal with it after is maybe what makes the better of us.

Definitely. I told my daughter's father that I hated him. Our daughter wasn't in the room, but she was only two and she was within earshot... and of course, a couple of weeks later she started repeating what I had said, to her father. I regret having said it where she could hear, and always will.

Rage sometimes makes us do things we regret, but sometimes it cannot be helped. Hope your daughter will understand one day.

Hi Lore, When I was young in 1994, I had set a bonfire of stuff inside my room just because someone dared to enter my room and clean up the mess around in my absence. I was very possessive of the things and I also knew where everything was, but when I returned and found the changes, I was furious and put up the fire and burnt out quite many things... I did not regret or anything but today I feel that it should not have been done and was totally uncalled for

Yes. Very relevant question.I have done many irrational things in life out of rage.As I have done many I cannot recollect all and narrate here. But the regret part I vividly remembe many instances and I recollect I regret even today after a long time. The rage disturbs the mind and make us commkit so many bad things in life.I suggest you read the book ..Destructive emotions..A frank conversation with Dali Lama the great spiritual and political guru of Tibet. You will realise as to how destructive emotions like rage are harmful to both ie the person who gets destructive emotion and the person at the receiving end..
