Hey all I was just surfing youtube the other day, as you do, and i came across a clip from a film called jackie chan drunken master or something. It looks really good, and i like jackie chan films, they are both entertaining and funny. Can anyone recommend this film for me? Or is it not that good? THanks all

Yes, the movie is called The Drunken Master. It's a good movie, although it's from his old movies and it's in Chinese, not like his recent films which are in English. The film is among my husband's favorites. I've seen it twice and both times I had good time watching it. It's very funny and a good way to relax and spend your time.

Is that the one? Because there is a newer one called the legend of the drunken master. I am not sure which one the video i saw was from? Suppose there is nothing for it but to get both of them! Thanks for your comment

Well, I was referring to the Drunken master that was filmed in 1978. There is another The Legend of the Drunken master, which is from 1994 and to be honest, I haven't seen it. But I believe if it's some sort of a sequel to the 1978 movie, it will be also fun to watch. As you said, you better get them both!

The Legend of the Drunken Master is a sequel. Watch the old one first.

One of my favorite from Jackie Chan. There are some incredible stunts there and it's really funny. I see you're a Naruto fan. Remember Rock Lee using drunken fist style? Guess from where that came from.

It is real style but most people didn't know about it before Drunken Master. heh I knew all of those except for Jan Lee because I never played DOA.

I know that rock lee drunken style is the same used by jackie chan, but i thought i was actually a real life style? Isnt it? Also, did u no rock lee is based on bruce lee, as is jan lee from doa, as is martial law from tekken, whereas Lee (or lei, the police officer one from tekken) is based on jackie chan? Bit of trivia there for you!

Oh man, your missing out, DOA is my favourite in terms of game mechanics. The story is a bit poor... because there isnt really one, and there are fewer characters, but it feels so much more fluid and natural compared to tekken. A lot of the time, tekken just feels like a game where you win for remembering different combos, DOA is more about timing, speed and tactics, which i like

I watched the Drunken master and even if its an old movie, many people still interested to watch it over and over again. It's really amazing that a drunkard person can still manage to use the martial arts techniques in a powerful and wiser way than a person who don't even drink even a single shot. Anyway, all movies that lead by Jackie Chan is really interesting to watch. He has its own way to impress people and catch their interest or likes of a movie.

I still have yet to see it. I hear everyone talk about it or some people impersonate it so I want to see it with my own eyes.

Any movie with Jackie Chan as hero will never be boring, I would suggest you to use Internet Movie Database website to check for any movies review, generally, any movie with more than 6 points is a good movie and this movie (Drunken Master) has got 7.6 points. Here you can check the details about this movie: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0080179/

Hey, thanks for the site, but already knew it. But i find that these review sites never are inline with my own preferences. I mean, balls of fury didnt get a good score on one of these sites, i got it, and i loved it. Another film called mcgruber or something like got a fairly good score, and it was the biggest load of pants i have ever seen. Another example? Domino, a terrible film. Tristan and Isolde is another example. And there are more, trust me. I prefer to hear what people actually say about a film.
