A lot of people want to read their Bible well. They made a reading plan. They use Bible to guide their living. Yet somewhat alone the way we tend to forget that Bible is God's word to us. We tend to form a human-centered way of using Bible as a tool book for your better living rather than God' revelation to us about Himself. So be reminded, Christians: The core massage the Bible is to 1. Show us who God is 2. train God's people to know God Let us want God more and more while studying your Bible and let us pray desperately to God to form us more like Christ Jesus our Lord. Let us put it actions, brethren!

If according to our denominant Anglican, our bible reading is based on season and day. there is one booklet usually used by the priest and other church preacher as a referances of the sermon themes and reading guidelines. For me is different. I will randomly open my bible and read whatever inside my random pick. Then I just try to understand the content of what I read. to be frank, I haven't read the bible from the first page until the last page and I also didn't remember which have been read before.

Try to think this way: Will you begin to read any great book just by randomly picking? Do you think it's a good to learn? If not so! Then pray to Father to humble you to see that the Bible is more precious than gold, sweeter than honey. That means we need to read the Bible consistently and persistently, because we want to know this God through eating in His Word. Remember also the whole Bible is A God-breathed Book! There are 66 books. Altogether they are called the Holy Scriptures, which is the Bible.(2 Timothy 3:16) So we need to read ALL the BOOKS of the Bible, not just in the way feel like doing. It is God's Word to US. We have to treat it as God's Word. It gives us no space for being picky. Of course, this doesn't mean every time you try to read the Bible it will just to make you feel good or feel easy to understand. Yet one thing I want to to think! What if your goal to read is to 1. Know God 2. Becoming like Christ in Knowing God Have you ever done it before? I mean, really, have you done it before? If so or you want to do it, then I believe there's no reason for us to stopping studying the Bible!!! Hope you will find some help through this! The whole point is to doing, praying, rather than just reasoning.

Hi Josh what a great discussion. Wish I had seen it sooner. God wants all of HIS children to learn and understand the bible. I study with a teacher of Gods word that shows us how to understand what God means by every passage of the bible. http://www.shepherdschapel.com/index.htm

That is so true. The Bible is God's way of speaking to us. We may study it, but that's not the same as listening to what God is saying through it. If we pray for it before we read, the Holy Spirit will open our eyes to things we have never seen there before.

Absolutely right. BIBLE is the Word given to us, we must love it and read it with thirst. Imagine you live in a desert and you found a fountain of water in the middle of the desert, won't you desperately drink the water. Therefore we might seek his word with thirst, God who sees us secretly will reward us openly. The Guiness world book of Records acknowledges the BIBLE as the world's BEST SELLING book. Why? Because JESUS is the TRUE and ONLY SAVIOUR the WORLD needs, therefore HIS WORD always prevails and never fails!
