It's always frustrating to me when dealing with this situation. After trying very hard to figure out what to feed them...they just throw the food out. well! it's not their fault...something wrong with their stomach. Usually this illness goes by itself, some said don't stop the diarrohea otherwise the illness stay behind so just throw it away. By the way...how you treat your kids when this thing happen? Thanks

When this happens good nutrition has to be ignored for a while. They need things with lots of calories and liquids so they will not dehydrate. Ginger ale, popsicles, jello (gelatin), and clear beef or chicken broth are all good for this and help calm their stomach. With the ginger ale, you may need to let it go flat first (get rid of the bubbles); but, ginger is very good for upset stomachs. If they can keep it down - cheese, especially cottage cheese, helps slow down or stop diarrhea and yoghurt is also good. Once they are starting to recover - soups (chicken and rice or chicken noodle), toast, and chicken and rice are all good foods for transitioning back to a normal healthy diet.

Wow! thanks speakeasy...that's a very good information for me.How can i don't know all about what you had mention above? I just discouraged my kid taking yoghurt because to my knowledge it's a milk product that can worsen the diarrhea.

Many milk products will make diarrhea worse - but, the bacteria and enzymes used to make yoghurt "fixes" that problem - unless the child is lactose intolerant. Cheese is also a "milk" product; but, a lot of people know that too much cheese will "bind you up" (make you constipated). I learned this info from experience with my own family and some tips from our doctors,
