Lame new judges

So far, I'm not digging the new judges. What made the producers thinks that Randy could be the 'bad' guy on the critiquing of the contestants? The one time he tried to give someone a bad review, he was shut down by Jennifer. I think she's going to bully Randy, not too sure about Tyler. I've seen her give Tyler a couple of dirty looks, lol! Already I'm sick of Jennifer Lopez's mugging and Stephen Tyler's, "Beautiful, beautiful." Get some more words in your vocabulary, Stevie. Because if this is all they're going to do, they might as well not even have the judges sitting there like bobbing head dolls, since it's the american public who votes for the contestants, anyway. I also thought they made a couple of mistakes in who they picked for the 24. I really miss Simon Cowell. Say what you will about the man, at least he had an ear for music and who could sing and who couldn't. It's sad that these contestants won't get any real criticism about how to improve. I have a feeling this will be the last season of American Idol if they don't start making some drastic changes with these judges. Hopefully these two new ones are on a trial period basis, like Ellen. Simon Cowell with his new show is going to run over this old one with a steam roller.

I think they are doing much better than I expected them too. I think Steven is pretty right on with his advice even though sometimes he says it in a funny way. I think he is very honest, and still able to say even negative things in such a way that they are not to offensive. I don't know if Randy is comfortable being top dog now. Lopez is actually nicer than I thought she would be.

I surely do NOT miss Simon!!! They started positioning Randy to be the bad guy last year & he failed miserably!!! WHY do they even need a bad guy??? I think you can critique a performance WITHOUT badmouthing them!!! I really liked Live to Dance this year & think Paula Abdul proved that you can say nice things to the contestants & give them guidance on how to perform better!!! I'm more one of those people who would strive to do better by hearing words of encouragement over being shocked into submission by harsh words!!!!
