Why did Dhoni take fielding after wining the toss..?

I really could not understand it. Why did he chose to field when it was a turning track? Even Yousuf Pathan got big turn in his first ball with the new ball.. And again they would really have used a bating practice at the situation.
Was it because he have seen the Irish chasing the big total down against the English, and thought to know the target first..? What do you think..?

I think more than anything it might have been the performance of Indian bowlers in the previous two matches. Also the fact that Ireland chased the total that England set up pretty well might have affected his decision. In the hind sight it was not a great decision, but India still managed to win the match.
