Though Yuvraj played very well today by taking 5 wickets and then adding 50 runs to the team. He had a nice partnership with Dhoni! But still the match was not in favour of India! It was only after the entry of Yusuf Pathan the things have got changed! Two energetic sixes and two fours by him made all the difference in the confidence of Indian team and then the target was easily accomplished! So I think it was Pathan who made the difference in the today's match , though Yuvi was absolutely good today! Your opinion please!

I think you cannot argue when a man takes 5 wickets and scores a fifty. I think Yuvraj definitely deserved the man of the match. All Pathan did was hit a couple of sixes and a couple of fours to quickly close out the match. But by the time he came in the match was already setup and so his innings was not that much of the difference maker. Cheers! Ram

Hi Dear Ram! I agree and sincerely appreciate about the way Yuvraj played the match and added runs and taken wickets in yesterday's match and he was appropriately given the recognition in the form of 'Man of the Match'! There is no controversy or argument on this point here! Here I differ with you if you say that the match was set by the time Pathan entered the match! Can you imagine what would have happened if unluckily if Pathan would have got out within few balls without making any runs? I am sure our remaining tail enders would have fallen down in row like a castles of the cards as we are having big drawback with our tail enders , who can't really play confidently under the pressure! Have you forgotten how we lost the last few wickets in succession in our very first match against Bangladesh? We couldn't even complete 50 overs! Thus I think it is not only the runs added by the Pathan which made the difference in getting the Victory, but also the Morale boost up what the Indian Team has today because of his act, which will enable our team to pierce ahead in this tournament! Thanks for the response!

Cricket after all is game of speculations and with full of ifs and buts, ...As seen several times in the past, under pressure the tailenders of Indian team play disastrous game!Might be in few occasions Harbhajan and Zaheer might have played with cool head, but under the prevailing circumstances it was difficult for them to accomplish the job, as they have shown their performance while playing with Bangladesh by giving their wickets one after another as if they had a competition of giving the wickets, on the other day at Bangladesh! In my opinion it was the Pathan who by hitting good boundaries made the things easier for the Indian team, which other wise without any hitch could have been in disastrous position! Thanks !

I think we enter the realm of speculation when we say what if Pathan had got out. There have been quite a few instances in the recent past of Bhajji and Zaheer playing with cool heads to finish off the matches. Also Yuvraj was still at the crease and playing with a cool head. So I do not think Pathan's innings here was a match winning one. But yes, he finished off the match without any last minute hiccups and deserves credit for that. Cheers! Ram

Hi Dear Newbie and Dear Sonaimajumdar! I agree that we have fantastic players like Sachin, Yuvraj,Virat Kohli, Yusuf Pathan, Harbhajan Singh and Zaheer Khan! These is o second opinion about the capability of these players ! The combined efforts of these players will definitely help us to get the World Cup! Here what I wanted to say is though yesterday, Yuvraj did a fantastic job in batting and bowling as well he got due recognition for this in the form of 'Man of the Match' award, it was Pathan who actually eased off the pressure on the Indian team which made all the difference! As our players tend to perform very badly under pressure! Recall the way we lost our tail enders in the match we played against Bangladesh within few balls, we couldn't play complete 50 overs there! Thus I think Pathan did a great job of recouping the Morales of Indian team back in an impressive way! Thanks for responding!

What I think??? If now the situation has come to such that India needs special efforts from somebody particular to ‘save’ a match against Ireland, then we really need to count our time of exit from this world cup. What should have been ideally a good batting, bowling and fielding practice session, went on to become a really tense match… and we should not really pat ourselves for winning this game…what the team needs to think rather is why did we have such a situation at all!!!

Hi Dear Sudiptacallingu! You are absolutely right! In fact this match should have been a practicing session for Indian players! But the efficient playing by the upcoming team of Ireland made the lives of Indian players miserable with their bowling attack and with their fantastic fielding! I think Indian team was either over confident or was under nervousness because of which we had to witness such a match yesterday! Thanks for responding dear friend!

Hi AKRao, There is no doubt that Yuvraj got the man of the match with five wickets haul and contributing through bat too. Yes, had Pathan not pushed the Irish players to the background it seemed difficult for India to score runs. If the contribution of Sachin, Yuvraj and Pathan was not there who knows Ireland would have the last laugh. Now with this win India is relaxed to some extent.

Hi Dear Krajibg! Yes, though Yuvraj had a fantastic innings, it was Yusuf Pathan who made the actual difference in the match...possibly without him possibly today Ireland would have had the last laugh! Thanks for responding!

Both were perfect.Yuvi showed his bowling talent by taking 5 wickets. But still when the match was like out of the indian hands, then pathan showed his batting talent and saved the team. both played an important role for the win.it was totally a team job and yuvi and pathan showed it. And there's also no doubt that the irish were not perfect. They too tried well. They took Sehwag's wicket at the beggining ,then sachin, dhoni etc etc. They played too awesome. But at last best team won .

Hi Dear Sonaimajumdar! Yes, there is no doubt that both the players did a fantastic job and got the Indian team towards the Winning! Yuvraj no doubt has taken 5 wickets and added 50 precious runs, but at the end it was Pathan who not only added runs to get the Victory he has boosted the morale of Indian Team, which is most important thing right at the present situation! Irish team is no doubt, is a team in making! They will be emerging out soon as one of the strongest teams in the World! It is high time now ICC should think to grant the team, the International status, to add one more team in the Test matches! Thanks for response!

Yusuf Pathan has contributed his bit for India's win against Ireland yesterday but that was not a crucial innings. India was crusing confortable towards victory. The real crucial innings was the partnership between Dhoni and Yuvraj. Any thing could have happened at that time if either of these players got out early in the innings. YUsuf is definitely a talented player and plays his part most of the times. He has proved that in South Africa.

Hi Dear Msdivkar! I agree that the contribution by Pathan may not look crucial! But the fact is under pressure Indian team collapses like the palace made of cards, which we have seen in many matches, for that matter in the first match against Bangladesh, where tail enders even couldn't complete the 50 overs! Thus it is not the contribution of the runs in the innings about which i am talking, I am talking about the confidence with which he played to pocket this match! If he would have gone out then there would have been definitely pressure built on our players and under pressure we often get succumb to the opponent's bowling as the left overs would be the tail enders then! So this dependable play from his side makes the whole difference to the Morales of the Indian team for which I think he had a big role in yesterday's victory! Thanks for responding!

Hi Dear Aditaya! You are right! Now Yuvraj has come back to his original form and he managed to prove his worth by taking 5 wickets at appropriate time and then in next session by adding 50 runs to the team! If he maintains this form then we really need not worry about the future performance of the Indian team in this tournament ! Though it may be difficult for him to show his bowling talent in next coming matches he definitely can add runs through his bat! Yusuf Pathan has aptly proved his place, i.e number seven, and he was like a savior who was sent to accomplish a mission, who came on the field and right from the first ball till the end he did his job fabulously to get the roaring applause from the crowd! This dependable and genuine player needs a special salute for his reckless and confident play towards the Victory! Thanks for responding!

India was always winning by keeping wickets in hand, there were 2-3 reckless shots played by the Indian batsmen(including the run out) which could have cost them, but Yuvraj played sensibly and the then Pathan, is a Pathan and he went straight from the beginning hitting sixers and the watch was eventually in the pocket.

Hi Dear Richclass! I agree with you that sometimes say either because or over confidence or because of nervousness Indian players are seen playing some silly shots and also seen running between the wickets like children playing cricket at the local play ground! Yesterday it was the sensible bowling followed by sensible batting by Yuvvraj , who returned to the form after a long gap, which has given some life into the game as far as Indians were concerned! It was ultimately Pathan who has made his entry in a grand way by hitting six on the very first ball. The other six and the two boundaries have made every thing smooth going and India could get the match, which was looking quite uncertain at some level! His contribution is really worth appreciating and now I feel we have got a dependable in the Indian team on number 7th position, who will remain as a big defender for the Indian team and a big obstacle to cross for the opponent team! Thanks for responding!

Pathan is always like that.. And I am happy he played is natural game.. He totally wiped out all excitement of Ireland players for wicket of the Dhoni. I think except Sehwag and Gambhir all players have contribute well. Pitch was too bad too play but as India's main strength is batting , we able to make win.

Hi Dear akp! Yes, I agree that Pathan has been always like that! His aggression in the game makes him different from others, when he actually delivers the goods with the aggression! I agree that the Ireland team's enthusiasm and the excitement was wiped out by this bats man, which they had it for a moment after taking the wicket of Dhoni! Yes,in spite of the bad pitch, when other seasoned players were finding it difficult to make runs, this man has entered the ground and right from the first ball he has started his hitting to take India to the victory! Thanks for responding!

Hi Dear Faceless Girl! I agree that today luck was favoring Indian Team! But then fortune favours the brave and the role of the luck is one big factor in any game! Though I admit that the performance of the Ireland's team was very good, it was the Pathan who smashed them along with their dreams in really a fashionable way! The confidence wit which he sent the ball into crowds needs special mention as the situation was very tense and he had a lot of responsibility on his shoulder to pullout the team out of the dangerous situation! I am talking about this! His entry into the ground made the crowd totally different within few minutes of his entry the mood of the crowd has got changed. Since he was interested in helping the Yuvraj to get his fifty, he was bit slow in between. Otherwise he would have finished the match much earlier! This great player deserves a special salutation as he is one of the most dependable player presently the Indian team is having with them and his number seven position will make every opponent team to play cautiously till the end as this one man army can fetch the win from opponents clutches with great ease! Thanks for responding!
