MS Dhoni believe in R.Ashwin only in IPL and not in ODIs?

hi friends. sunil gavaskar rightly said it would be very unfair if chawla was given chance against england and ashwin against ireland.it would not be the right scale. sure it is. chawla failed against 2 teams but what hurt most is the pitch assisted spinners and he couldn't succeed against an associate nation. that brings us to the topic. everytime the chawla versus ashwin question is asked, dhoni replies that its not much use playing 2 main offies when we have part-time off spinners like yusuf and sehwag. sehwag is out of question at the moment. doesn't it sound kinda hypocritical that while captaining CSK he played murali and ashwin together even when an part-time off spinner like raina was in the playing XI but he wont play bhajji and ashwin together because he has apart-time spinner in yusuf? here i thought that dhoni had extreme confidence in ashwin's abilities.

actually harbajan is a senior off spinner in the team, dhoni is good friend of him, harbajan not getting wickets regulerly, if dhoni get aswin in the eleven aswin will take more wickets than harbajan then it will create problem to harbajan. thats why dhoni not consider aswin..

captain cool may be have his own idea to handle his team. It's not mean that changing only one player can change the hole game. As like game between SA vs india india's main problem was the awful batting in last 10 over. So we must think about it either thinking about players.

I think Ashwin will play in the next match. It was a big mistake not to pick him ahead of Piyush in the game against Ireland. But I think Piyush's performance now leaves Dhoni with no chance but to replace him with Ashwin. I think Ashwin has more variety than Piyush and he is also a better bowler when the slog is on against him. Cheers! Ram

Actually in CSK Dhoni doesn't have the choice of a leg spinner and hence he plays with Ashwin and Murali. He was not wrong in taking Chawla because as a captain you would like to have variety in bowling , now if Chawla is doing poor bowling then it not the fault of Dhoni as his intention was correct.Main concern is that in past Dhoni used to give chance to Ravindra Jadeja saying that team combination gets right if an all rounder plays and India lost many matches because of that , but now i am sure Dhoni wont repeat that mistake again because if you are playing two spinners they should be disciplined .Chawla was bowling poorly from one side so opposite teams had to just safly play off the 10 overs of Bhajji

Dear Stardust, Dhoni sometimes is strange and off late, he has been very strange...!!! He keeps talking about variety, but forgets about form. Piyush Chawla has not been in the best form. He for some reason keeps persisting with Chawla. Well, after the last match, if Dhoni still plays the leg spinner, then... GOD save I!!!!... If he does not want to play Ashwin, then alright, play an additional pace bowler; any one Sreesanth or Nehra...!!!! Anyone is a better option than Chawla..!!! (No Disrespect Intended to Chawla) Share your views... Balu.

Ashwin is a good bowler, he got good talent, and he bowls very well in the 20-20 games, so he should have given a chance, let give him a chance...

Hello stardust, I was just thing about this. When the Indian team was declared and Piyush Chwla was in the list, I suspected something has gone wrong. Why not Ojha or Amit Mishra? Piyush unfolds the partiality mindset of Dhoni as he included him. What result you got? Yesterday even against the minnows he failed miserably. Is it fair not to give a chance to Ashwin? Come on men think about the nation and the emotion of the people involved and not your favoritism.
