My short-term memory has gone downhill, a lot, to the point where if I add double digits in my head, I have to do it a few times because I can't remember what numbers to carry over etc(ex:adding 14+17, I'd be like 4+7=11 and 10+10=20, and I'd forgot I got 11 from the 4+7 and would do it, then forget the 10+10=20 and would do it again...) I think it has to do more with some sort of energy lapse or something(don't really know proper medical terms for dealing with the brain ;D), caused by lyme disease. Makes me very mad, because math is my specialty. They completely deny the existence of lyme disease here, even though there are a whole bunch of deer ticks here. The summer which I think I contracted it, we counted probably 20 or so ticks that were just in the house!Dogs brought them inside, etc. I worked outdoors that year(was in a lot of tall grass most of the time). I got sick, really bad back aches, muscle and joint pains, went away, but my fatigue stayed, have felt energy sapped since, and, my mind has been doing funny things lately. Enough about myself though. I've heard making rosemary tea can improve memory(even helps with Alzheimers).

It can be fatal, but rarely is- it is more of a debilitating disease, which stays with people for life(sometimes even when the proper treatment is received). Cat's Claw tea was used for hundreds of years by the tribes of the rain forests to treat all sorts of illnesses(as it is an immune booster, and it flushes out toxins and what-not), and someone mentioned it was good to help treat lyme disease. It is perfectly safe to use, as long as you aren't on any medication, pregnant, etc.

It's suspicious why the doctors there don't believe in Lyme disease . I'd never heard of it though, it must have a different name here idk. But is it fatal?? And the cat's claw tea you're drinking, was it recommended by someone to you?? I mean it sounds dangerous, what is it for actually??

To have a good memory need to eat cottage cheese it is really help. and more. to learn well, you need to do that in fresh air, after walking, ventilated room or at the open window. The air helps the brain to think better, try it And still needs more play brain games in the internet, me helps it too Good luck my darling!!!!

Oh yes! For several times that happens to me, and probably worse than you experience. There are incidents that i went inside our bedroom to get something bu when i am already inside, i cannot remember anymore what to get there. Sometimes I even forgot where i place some things i am using that particular moment. That's why i tell myself that if there is something i will do and i can do it that particular moment i will do it already, otherwise, i might intend to forget it again. I guess this has something with aging.

As a person grows old his memory becomes poor specially when you don't do anything that could exercise it. Per se, exercise is one way of sharpening the brain. Exercise gets the brain working well. So does those shows that challenges your memories like "Name that Tune" . The Price is Right or Family feud. I myself would always play Text Twist or Bookworm just to practice the sharpness of my brain. Best of all, i have a job that keeps my brain from getting rusty. Another, Mylot makes it sharp too .

I am a lot older than you ,and it just comes naturally for me to forget things. I think we all get busy and forget, I walked out of the house the other day without my wallet, I was lucky I did not get pulled over by the police and had to show my license. I write down notes when I have to take something special the next day or put things in my handbag that I need to take, so I just have to remember to take my handbag. lol Cheers SUE

Yes, I can definitely relate with you. This happens to me almost all the time, and I got myself into trouble just like you. But in order to minimize this kind of situation I organize everything. For example I put my things where I usually put them in order for me to be at ease in finding them whenever I need them and I wrote down notes of special occasions and the things I need to accomplish for a certain day or time. I also keep a journal to keep track of what is important in my life at the moment. I also keep a record of my files cause I keep on forgetting them especially those I need for school and my online work. It is just sad that I'm forgetting a lot of things lately, I'm still young and the state of my memory is already like this, I wonder what will happen to it when I aged. I hope it will not worsen as I get older, but I doubt that cause I don't know of that much methods in order to improve them. Maybe changing my lifestyle would help. I don't often acquire enough sleep so I think it is one of the factors that affects my memory. They say that not having enough sleep is bad for the neurons. So I guess this one I could modify. Aside from the few that I have mentioned you could also take some supplements that helps sharpen memories. There's a lot that here in our country and you could likewise ask if any memory supplement is available in your place and what brand work wells in your age group or your type, and ask your doctor or any professional in the field of medicine or health in order to secure your safety okay.

Hey thanks for the response =D. I have started taking notes these days too, it helps a lot. I'm worried my memory might get bad as I get older too. I'm not too old myself and I fear what might happen at this rate . But as mylotters have suggested here I'm thinking on taking those omega 3s and stuffs. Hope they help me. And i think you should look at all the responses here too. Might help. Good luck.

My memory is bad also, but I am in my 50's. I was suprised upon reading some of the other posts that you are only 17. I was going to say try crossword puzzles and there are some sites on line for improving memory games. I make a list of thing I want to do, or tell someone and that helps if I can remember where the list is!LOL! I imagine those things would work at any age, it is worth a try anyway.

There are some facts one must know about memory. It is normal to forget certain things because forgetting is a means of the brain to protect itself. What would happen if we keep on remembering everything? In order to practice memory to function well, that is to remember what we want and need to is to keep it working. This means memorizing poetry or doing crosswords and so on. There are also plants that help brain and memory by increasing blood circulation such as ginkgo biloba.

Hey thanks for the response and the information. Now when I come to think about it, it feels true. Anyway I had never heard of ginkgo biloba but thanks. I'll give it a try. Have a good day.

Normally i am very very good at being able to remember a lot of different things. However over tha past few years i seem to be forgetting a lot, even things that have recently been said to me, i sometimes am having to write things down so that i don't forget something. I am not sure if it is medical, or that i am just getting older or the fact that i have more important things on my mind or i just get too little sleep. Either way i just wish that i was able to remember things, it annoys me when i am so close to remembering something but still don't get to find out what it was no matter how close i get.

You like my wife, my wife also forgetful. I really do not like, with people who are forgetful. I always remind my wife, for always taking notes, so that, if my wife, forget, notes can be read. Perhaps, you also can take notes.

Sometimes it does happen especially when we have so many multi-tasking at once. I tend to be negative once in a while which clouds my brain and causes me to forget some simple things that at times I am amazed on how easily it does happen. Good health, plenty of rest and positivity for me usually helps.

Oh boy, do I know the feeling. I sometimes have a hard time remembering things. Maybe it's age or maybe it's stress. I know for me that I am very stressed these days and I am trying to keep up with lots of things and I get confused. Maybe you just need a little rest and relaxation to give you a good refueling. Like pressing a reset button and starting over.

For me i don't think it's stress. IDK though. I am always thinking about a lot of things but they don't really stress me. maybe a bit of relaxation is what i need. Thanks for the response. have a good day
