Movie Genre

Hey Everyone,
Recently I have been trying out and asking people all over about what they think the general public is most interested in when going to the movies, whether its Sci-fi, action, comedy, love, all sorts of genres are out there but when you think about the really big blockbuster hits such as: Avatar, Inception, and now Battle for La, all of those are centered around different themes. Inception is the type of movie that makes you think, Avatar is one of those memorable adventures, and Battle for LA is simply sci-fi alien type movie. So what do you think the general public most wants to see, and what do you think gets the most money and best reviews. Post your comments below!

I just had to respond to what you're saying... the 3 big blockbuster movies that you're talking about are all sci-fi / fantasy movies... which are big money pullers because the people who really want to see them are young teenage boys, who are willing to put down plenty of money to watch them... Battle for LA, however, is rated R, meaning that the younger guys have trouble getting into it, and thats why it's only made 35 million on it's opening weekend... which is pretty low.
Last week, the movie "Rango" had it's opening weekend, the animated movie about a gecko, staring Johnny Depp, and it made about 45 million. Thats the kind of movie thats bigger then sci-fi, digital animation movies. Toy Story 3 last year made about 80 million on it's opening weekend, and Avatar, which is about 75% digital animation, became the highest grossing movie of all time.

I like all types of movies, I'm the type of movie watcher that watch a movie from any genre, but if i had to choose one i would have to choose horro. There is nothing like a good bone chilling horro movie. But it is hard to come across a good horro movie now days.

Well me personally I'm not picky just as long as its a good movie with an excellent theme. I just order the Netflix and I love the selection of movies they have to choose from. The have comedy, romantic comedy, sci fi, classic etc, any genre you can dream up is on Netflix. If you're not already a member and you love movies of all sorts I would advise you to check it out.
