Whenever I sleep, I would put a blindfold . That way, I am assured that my eyes will not have a glimpse of the light or even the daylight. Specially at night, when I would sleep ahead of my husband who will be watching TV by my side, the blindfold is very much useful. I don’t mind the soft sound of the TV , as long as I don’t see any light, I will surely sleep well with the aid of my blindfold. So whenever I will travel, the blindfold will surely be the first to be placed on my bag. I will buy two more, when we go to the city where our daughter is studying , comes April, her graduation day. How about you guys?

I do not use blindfolds but I do not like to sleep too w/ the lights on. But when we already have the kids, we need to keep at least a light on. So we just use a small plug-in light, not only that it serves a lot of energy (consumption) it is also not as bright so I can easily sleep too even if it is turned on. My husband sometimes use a pillow on top of his head or he cover himself w/ a blanket from top to toe.

Your husband is very like my husband when he sleeps!

I learned something from the alternative doctor of my father when he has cancer. To avoid having nightmares, drink at least two glasses of water, before you sleep. I always do that ever since, and my having nightmares have stopped. Try it.

really? :) but sometimes I really dont like him sleeping like that because he might get suffocated if he dreams or if ever he has nightmares. but he's really used to that.

Along with my night moisturizer, my night mask is an absolute must have. I can't sleep if the television is off, I like the noise, but the light has to be shutout. Not only does the light keep you awake because it blocks the release of the nighttime chemical compound, melatonin, that tells your body that it is time to go into your deepest sleep, your dream sleep. If you are not in your deepest sleep, REM, you are not going to dream or assemble all that you have learn that day. It is really important to get to the REM sleep; you will wakeup rested and ready for a great day. So I am all in favor of the night mask.

I used my mask last night and was up "fit as a fiddle" at 5:30 a.m. The mask really helps.

That's very nice of you to be so informative. I like those added information. I learned something good today. Night masks or blindfolds makes me sleep fitfully. Thank you for sharing!

I have a sleep-mask... which I guess if you want to be technical then it's a blind-fold but it's specially made to be a blindfold for people who want to sleep. lol I use it on occasion. I tried using it every night at one point just to see if it would help me to sleep better but it didn't seem to make much difference so I let it go. I only wear it now when the moonlight's obnoxious.

One of the things that me and my wife can't agree upon is whether or not to turn the lights off when it's bed time. My wife wants to sleep with the lights on because she claims that darkness suffocates her on the other hand I will have a hard time going to sleep with the lights on because i feel that i'm staring at a white annoying light even with my eyes closed. Our solution? I sleep on the couch on the sala with the lights off while she's in the bedroom with the lights on.

Why don't you use the blindfold or the night mask instead. It could be bought on department stores. It's not tight fitting and it only covers the eyes. Surely, when you have that , you will have no trouble sleeping even with the lights on. Try it.

Thats a nice way to sleep, bit in my case I can't do that. I have this tendency that whenever someone tries to blindfold me, it's just that I had a hard time breathing like I'm suffocating. What I do is just close my eyes and avoid thinking of something that might make my brain active again. If closing my eyes doesn't work, I close my eyes and massage the eyeballs area. It works for me. :D

It's not the blindfold being used in those games. It only covers the eye area with an elastic band at the back, which you could adjust, how tightly or loosely you like it. The nose isn't covered by it.

I usually fall into a deep sleep whenever I sleep. So nope, a blindfold would be unnecessary for me :D

Good for you, that you don't need any aid to make you sleep well. I do sleep well always, provided i have the blindfold though.

I don't use blindfold to sleep because it doens'tmatter I hide my eyes or not, I just can't sleep well. I always have hard time fall asleep, it takes me a while eveyrtime when I go to bed before I fall asleep. I definitely can't sleep if somebody is watching TV next to me and the light bothers me. We sleep in a very dark room.

That's why i use blindfold, so that even if my husband beside me is still watching TV it will not bother me. I hide my eyes from any light because i like total darkness so i could sleep well. I guess, you should go to sleep if you really are sleepy already. Forcing yourself to sleep would just frustrate you, if you can't sleep at all yet.

I cannot use a blindfold because I don't like anything on my face when I sleep. I do however need TV to be on. I cannot fall asleep in total darkness. I need some form of stimulation before I can fall asleep.

I don't know exactly whether I like it dark or not because sometimes I can sleep with the light on and sometimes I have to cover my eyes. I guess it depends upon my sleeping mood.

I like to sleep in the dark, it seems easier to sleep. If you can see the light, at times it can be a distraction, and can actually cause you to wake up more than once during the night. I don't blame you for wanting to use this blindfold. Also if this is something you have become used to, then an even better reason to continue using one!

True. I just see to it that it's not tightly bound . I want it a little loosely tied.
