is the libya war about oil or democracy

well from my knowledge democracy is about the people and if some Libyans still support Gaddafi why not ask the country to go into election instead of war or dis-stabilizing the countries economy the united nations hasn't recovered from Iraq war financially now its throwing millions of pounds worth of bombs for what?

It is not about our getting oil from ther but rather Europe and China as they import a large part of their oil from Libya.

Do you honestly think that Ghadafhi is willing to hold peaceful elections to lose his job? Killing innocent civilians, oh well, I am sure if we just ask nicely, he would be willing to head up the election himself.
