I generally used to work till late nights. I will work till 4 am in the morning. I wake up at 5.30 in the morning But I will sleep only 3 hours in the afternoon. So the total time for my sleep will be around only 3-4 hrd per day. It is usually said that we have sleep 8 hours per day. But i donot sleep that much. i do not get any bad health indication till now. So is it good to continue in this manner since i do not get any bad health indication till now. Or i have change my sleeping behavior?

Lack of sleep lowers your resistance to disease, there are also studies that show sleep is a time where the body does some of the repairs due to wear and tear, so hope you get more sleep.

That's very true louievill. The side effects for the lack of sleep may not manifest yet on him, but it would when he consistently go on like that. Me, when i lack sleep , my gums would go weak that i find it hard to chew foods. I also noticed i cannot concentrate well in working and would feel sluggish.

hi, now that you found out that you have problem in sleeping, you must change it especially when you are not taking any vitamins supplement for your body health, because you cant feel the pain today but when you grow older you may feel those symptoms of sleeping disorder.

hjok get some exercise then you will sleep better and go to bed much earlier too. You will need at least six hours of sl ep to be healthy and rested.

You can do this for short term but eventually it can catch up with you. While we sleep our brain cell regenerate and re-charge you for the next day. Eventually what can happen is that you will without any form of control completely fall asleep and hopefully you will not be driving a vehicle or running some form of heavy equipment. I have an ex-siste-in-law who because she is on he net all night does not sleep enough. She has crashed her cars several times and luckily she has not killed herself to date. She still does it and does not learn. Please try and get some more sleep then the hours you mention.
