Hi everyone.. Its said that most often men assault women but here you are bound to change your view. She came to this province to attend a marriage ceremony from another province. She rested on a guesthouse and did not find the way to the guest house at night. So she knocked at the door of a family but she was unable to express her problem. Hence she tried her level best to express.. but instead of helping her the lady of that family accused her as a tipsy girl and began to beat on the road... even she managed two other women and some men two... all of them beat her savagely. Her prime crime she needed direction and she was unable to communicate as she is from a different province having different dialect. for details.. http://www.guwahatiportal.com/modules/AMS/article.php?storyid=45 Here is a video but sorry to say that its quality is not so good. yet, you may give a look. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wyzCTnF-NzE Share your views. Have you ever seen this type of incident?

What an unfortunate incident. There are all manner of reasons why people behave badly, fear being chief among them. There are many lessons to be learned from this on both sides of the situation.

By the way, in the states when we someone is indecent, we usually refer to them being improperly clothed - that is, they are lacking in clothing. But even the use of "indecent" as an expression seems to be old fashioned.

Hiya shibs, Really I am not surprised that the poor Woman was in a state of shock what a terrible thing to happen to her. Just an innocent knock on a Door and away they went. I would like and hope that this would never happen again. Just lost for words if you cannot ask for a direction any more without being beaten up. Good thing that 99´9 per cent of the People that live there are not like that. No one ever is wherever they live. It´s always the one per cent that spoil everything for everyone. I hope she gets help for this as well something that needs to be seen to and talked about. But you know that one per cent is in every Country shibs I have seen it here and there I mean where I was born of course. People are more on the defensive now instead of relaxing but in a way I suppose it´s the way things are. Wish her well from my part I would never dream of doing that to anyone even People that I don´t care for in my life. Take care and have a great Weekend. xxx

Hi angel... There was a huge protest against that act all over this province and as you have mentioned 99.9% people spitted on them for their cruelty. I am really surprised how a woman can be so rude to an another woman. There is no doubt that animals too conscious about the acts that they have to do. These women are not to say human themselves. have a nice day.

hello dear bhai, What's odd here is this statement "One of the accused claims to be a social worker but how can she work for the cause of women if she herself assaults another woman? Whatever may be the reason, no one has the right to take the law into his or her own hands,” Sumitra Hazarika, a woman activist, said." Yes,how can she works with such organization when she herself (the assailant) assaults the girl asking for help? I have to wait for dear sids regarding this “We apologise to Mizo society. The entire Assamese society is not like this. Some misguided people are,” ....did i missed lady number 10?...where's she?

That was the poorest video quality I have ever seen. lol Anyway, i dont understand why she was beaten. No matter what, let's say she did something but its not right. What the people did in that video clearly was a violation of human rights and they should be punished for it. Women who are indecent are those who are uneducated.

I saw the video and read the file you posted here. They are exactly the picture of a community of demeaning manner. How can they do that to a visitor of their country.. I read that one of the accused was a social worker?? She's totally a mess in that place. Those people (men and women) and the audience of such violence must be punish.. I have never witness such like incident if I would I will totally do something. Maybe calling policemen if I can't stop them.

Hi Shibham, It shatters my heart to hear about the brutality women have to face in different parts of world. I am here, in my home, all safe and happy and in some other parts of world people are trashing and bashing them just for the sake of proving their dominance. It is unbelievable how some societies have negative feelings about a women and apply physical strength to overpower them. I am utterly disappointed and also frustrated to be unable change people's mind. I hope in coming future women in such societies will be able to stand for their right and prove the world that they are even stronger. God Bless!

Hi sweetme.. We can just hope but can't change the minds of some stupid. As there most human beings are good and helpful, a less percentage is always rude and they are polluting entire human community. The dominance mentality of some certain persons were in history and will be in future. Anyway, have a nice day.
