Yes, if given the monetary capital, I would like to have my own affordable restaurant. It will have its take out counter, in which those students and employees who are on the go, could buy portioned packed lunches affordable to all. Those who have the time could dine in to taste for themselves some foods that needs ordering & some cooking time. I think this will click and I hope when I retire and finally have saved enough money I can have this realized. But meantime, we should concentrate on sending our daughter to medical school still. Do you also dream of having your own business someday?

Not only me, my whole family do! My Mom and Dad are both good cooks, they've dream to have their own restaurant before but as times flies it has changed! My Dad is a chemist (as I have mentioned in one of my discussions) .. So, the both of them wants to open a factory of wax if they will be given a good capital! That's why I am working hard for that dream!

I will do something this coming christmas if I have the money for it. I think going for a food associated business is one of the easiest and fastest way to earn money.

Yes, because everybody needs to eat and is fond of eating out. Although, it has to be strategically located in a place where there could be a niche for regular customers like a company or a school . In addition, you have to have affordable & delicious foods and clean surroundings.

well there are sort of christmas bazaars in my location that the rent per day is less than $5 a day so i think it will be good to try your products first if they can sell. My food is basically simple but really hard to find or they are really expensive.

That's one of my dream too. To build a resto and have it as a business of my own. When I graduated high school I said to my mom I wanted to take up culinary arts and Hotel and Restaurant Management. So that after graduating college I could put up a resto business. But they are all against it so I decided to take up Civil Engineering instead. This is actually my 3rd choice. Next to aeronautics.

Maybe someday you can pursue that dream again. Like me, this dream has been since i started working in an office. I just don't have yet the finances and the knowledge in managing it. But since now the company i work with deals in managing our company's franchised restaurants, i am little by little acquiring the ropes of how to manage it.

Well professor, i am now having second thoughts on that dream. My husband said, if we retired from work and would get into business like that, it would really drain our savings if it will not prosper. He said, it will be better that we just enjoy our retirement and live simply but comfortably. I think he has a point there. Anyway, should that be realized i will invite you.

In a few days, I would be moving to a new job. One in which I'm pretty sure wouldn't take so much of my time. With this extra free time, I am seriously considering getting a business started. At first I wanted to run a restaurant, but I have learned since that it is a difficult one to get into. And that it is a bit volatile, as one serious complaint or suit could easily close the business. But goodluck with yours!

Yep! I love to bake and cook. In fact, my sis and I had a pastry shop years ago but unfortunately, it didn't last long simply because we could no longer cope with the overhead expenses. And even though we had many customers who frequented our shop, somehow, it just wasn't enough. However, every christmas, I bake and sell fruit cakes to my friends. If given the chance, I would love to revive the pastry shop...

A pastry shop is nice also. In having a business monitoring our cost of sales and overhead expenses as against our sales is very important indeed. What's the use of having a business if the overhead expenses is more than the sales? Might as well close it , like you did.

I guess each and every one of us have a dream of having a business of our own. Meantime that it is not yet possible, let's just be contented with whatever job we have but try to always save for that dream of ours. Have a nice day!

I guess I don't have luck in business so I just stay home and work online. Anyway, all my children have finished their college studies and they all have stable jobs so my husband and I are not wishing anymore worries to get into. I only wish that your wish can come true.

Well, you are right. I guess, during that time we shouldn't be doing anything anymore that may worry us such as how the restaurant is running. However, as of now it's what's on our mind for us to have something to do when we retire. We would like to be mentally active even during those years through that. I just hope too that it will materialize when the time comes.

Yes I have my plans for my own as well. Go dream big and when the time comes who knows you would be able to have your own restaurant and manage it really well. It may not be easy but if you are very much determined to have one then go build that dream into a reality. I never limit myself to what I have right now but I always dream big because if you do not see yourself in a big picture then you will never put to past anything you want for yourself.

I, my family and also my friends dreamed of having a cozy cafe where one could relax, read, catch up with their friends, have meetings, talk with love ones, while sipping coffee and eating delicious pastries.

I think having a restaurant or anything that caters food is the most dreamed of business. With all those people wanting to eat at any time of the day, restaurants are really a thriving business, given the correct management.

I used to think that thought before, but now I would dream about having my own boutique if I had free capital because I like fashion. Besides, having your own restaurant is not easy, my family used to own one and they had to stay at the restaurant all the time for businesses so there was no rest at all almost so I don't think I would like that.

Maybe when that time comes for us, my husband and i can alternately do the supervision. Having a boutique too is nice.

that is a good idea. I once heard from my friend that the food business never go out of style because everyone eats. I also would want to start my own business which is still in line with food. I think to start a restaurant of your own would mean a lot of money for it to be put up. I hope you could make your dreams come true simplyd! take care :)

That sounds like a good idea and you should definitely start it! I would like to start my own restaurant one day as well. My boyfriends and I were discussing that the other day. We want to start one on the beach that is little and quaint and people feel at home when they come. We want it be an Italian restaurant where people come to socialize as well as dine. I want everything to be white so it is really beachy. It makes me excited even typing it! I hope we both open profitable restaurants one day!

Thanks for coaching us more. It's hard to borrow big money. Perhaps by then , we have saved enough for our restaurant. Anyway, it will just be a simple restaurant cooking affordable, clean and delicious dishes though.

I would love a bar and restaurant if given the chance. But I know I have to gain more knowledge to be successful so I would study culinary arts first and maybe business management on the side.....That's my dream, to be a chef and have my own rest-O. Oh, I hope and wish....but I can't for the moment. If only there's an organization who offers free lessons I would grab it! Hope our dreams come true!

I guess, you have a classier type of restaurant in mind. What i have is just a simple restaurant that caters to people in all walks of life. Being an employee, i now know the need to have a restaurant that is affordable to people who are always in the rush in the morning and at noon and those are the common employees. I think, we should just read on the internet to learn more about having a restaurant. As to how to operate , the Department of Trade and Industry maybe of help to us. I hope too, that our dreams will come true! And i hope by then , Mylot is still here for us to share our stories.
