He came home shouting...

My son's math teacher sent us a letter asking us to enroll our first grade son in a math plus summer program to enhance his skill as they see his potential as a mathematically gifted child. Their summer class started yesterday and in the classroom he was joined by higher grade students and they were studying division. When he came home yesterday he told us it was really difficult and he finds it hard to cope up with it. Today however, the moment he entered the door, he was shouting with happiness. He showed us his exercise notebook with perfect scores. Three exercises and he got all of them with a star. His teacher announced that only him got the perfect score and he was so proud of himself. His nanny told us that he was already shouting from the time he got out of the classroom and he was making signs to his dad waiting for him in the car. I am proud of my son and happy that he's doing his best. It's good that he knows the importance of getting a good score and achieving success. I am hoping that this will serve as a good motivation for him to continue doing well in school.

Congratulations to you and your husband for successfully motivating him! I am glad that he is so proud and can keep up with the older students. The fact that he is excited means that he will do great. You continue to motivate him, it may get a bit more difficult but with your continual efforts and his continual learning he will be successful.

That is amazing! Kudos to your son. You must be a proud parent for having such a gifted child. I do applaud his teacher too for recognizing such potential and doing something to help hone it. It's good that your son is experiencing academic success at a young age. I wish him a great future!

congrats sis , you must be very proud of him.Its good he has started loving studies at this young age which will be a strong foundation for his further eduction in future. Nowadays very less kids are into studies , most of them are into chatting, games which diverts their attention from studies.God bless you guys

Thanks. Like other kids my son is into so much video games and now he couldn't let go of his ipad. Nevertheless, he feels happy when he does well in school. Last year he got accelerated to first grade and he felt so happy. As the youngest in class i didn't think that he would be able to cope up with his classmates but he still remained to be smart and intelligent and made it to the honor list.

Well thats nice! A kid motivated not by money or by being scolded but by feeling self accomplishment is really good.

Good for him! Math is a great thing to be good at. I have one daughter who excels in math and another who has severe learning disabilities in that area. We have supported them both in their abilities and it is very heart warming to see them get through everything they do.

Wow, that's great. Being good in math myself, that is just a beginning. Math is a difficult subject. One have relly to love it in order to be good in it. This is a good motivation for him to love math further more. Groom him in math and I believe he will become great one day. Nothing is impossible when there is a will.

Congratulations for having a smart kid. I am very sure he will get smarter . Sometimes, we have to make a move in order to gauge the intelligence of our children, much more enhance their innate talents. You have done well in enrolling him in that class!

Thanks, and yes i am very proud of him and he never failed me since he started school. My son started going to school at an early of age of 2 years old but not because we forced him to but he told us that he wanted to study at that young age.
