I am just wondering if anyone from here is familiar with Ontario- Particular- anywhere outside of Toronto--sudbury, waterloo, london, st.catherines,etc-- I currently live in TOronto I have my whole life(30ys) - I love it but it is time to move on, I am looking to move anywhere outside of toronto - if anyone can suggest some good areas to look at or start with I would appreciate it.

I grew up in Mississauga and moved to Toronto in 1998. I'm sick of Toronto myself and would love to leave. I have family in Mississauga and St. Catherines. If you're looking for inexpensive, then anywhere away from the GTA is best. My mom lives in St. kits, and rents a 2 bedroom in a house for $750/month. Not bad considering how close to a major highway she is. Transit doesn't run on Sunday's though, and stop at 5pm on Saturdays. If you drive, it doesn't matter, but when you rely on transit, you're stuck. There's so much history in that city, when I stayed there for 2 weeks a few years ago, I was amazed at what I was able to see there. Port Dalhousie is home to one of the oldest carousels in the world, dating back to 1906. Rides are still 5 cents and it's open only during the summer time. Niagara Falls is nice too, more of a tourist spot though, but still nice. I don't know much about it, but I know it's a nice place. I have a friend who lives up in Wasaga beach. Work is not easy to find, even in the summer up there, and there's very little in terms of transit. You can only decide for sure where you'd want to go, if you're a big city type person, and living in T.O for so many years, you're used to it, so small city living might not be what you're interested in. Ottawa is nice too, I know a few people who live out there, but it's the same big city issues that you face here in T.O. Good luck in your search, I'm sure you'll find the perfect place to move.

Thanks for responding- I find Toronto has become so congested over the years and you have no space to breathe----- I don't drive- health problems that prevent my from driving but my fiancée does- I was thinking about St catherines- we just want to get out of here- We looking more for townhouses-- we plan on buying in a couple years, so we want something that works but wont kill our housing savings as well- getting out of Toronto is a for sure thing to do - everything crazy expensive here- it is difficult when you dont know the area you are looking at online- haha - so far St cats seems to be in the lead for what i have found price wise- but I have 2 children as well so schooling is important - Thanks again for you suggestions and advice I appreciate it

I was born in Ontario many years ago, and some time later, I retired here. Eventually I bought a place in McAllen Texas where I spend the winters. In April each year, I move back to Ontario again. Its a 2000 mile drive each way, but it gets me away from the Ice and Snow of Ontario in the winter.
