No more bad luck please

Since my husband died just over two weeks ago my father has been having horrible headaches. He thought it was his blood pressure and if that gets really high its caused him to have strokes in the past. He got checked its not his blood pressure. He went today and had the arteries in his neck checked. Those were all fine but there is an artery that runs from the heart up to the brain and the person doing the test said its completely blocked. He needs to have an mri done but when he does she thinks it will show the same results. Now we are all worried.
With my husband dying and my cousin dying we just dont need anymore bad things happening. How much does one family have to bear. I'm praying he gets the mri soon and nothing bad happens in the mean time. I've been so worried about him since my husband died. I was worried about him being at the hospital when my husband was dying because I was afraid his blood pressure would sky rocket and he would have a stroke. The thought of losing my dad is to much.
They say things come in threes. I think I need some good luck to come and break up all this bad luck.
To make matters worse there is all the talk about what will happen with the government possibly shutting down. I think the entire United States is worried tonight.

I know that the last minute deal that they got brokered averted the government shutting down. I just hope that this little piece of good news has helped break the string of bad lucks.
And I hope that your father has gotten his MRI, and that he's feeling a little bit better.

Well the doctor finally got back to my father and my dad went and had a bunch of tests done. From what we are gathering the blockage in his one artery has been there for 12 years since his last stroke. The doctor thinks that just stress and discs in his back that are very damaged from playing high school football are causing the pain and I guess the discs basically pinch of the flow to that artery. I dont know what will happen from here on out. The doctors pretty much said there isnt much that can be done they dont think but are going to run more tests next week.

I hear you! My thoughts go out to you because I know that you really don't need anything new and bad to happen to you right now. I hope that your dad ends up being okay. Sometimes I wish doctors wouldn't tell us that something bad MIGHT be the case and wait until they know for sure. It's just torture sitting around and waiting.
The stuff with the government is worrisome, but the crisis was averted. Although we do not yet know at what total cost. They are talking about cutting military paychecks. And also about not giving people their tax refunds back. That is so sad. But, it does help to know that we did have a government shut down back in 1995... so if we could live through it then, we could live through it now. I find it most sad that people are so quick to blame our president for everything bad that happens. Even when it's not his fault. I think more people should look at themselves and what type of gimme people they have become that we require the government to babysit us all the time.

Honestly I think there is a lot they can do. I get food stamps and because I dont work and have me and my two kids I get over $500 in food stamps each month. I cannot possibly use that much in a month. Maybe if they cut everyones food stamps back a little bit they could save some money. I will probably kick myself someday if my kids start eating me out of house and home and I still recieve food stamps but still its just a thought. I agree that knowing in 1995 that the government shut down and we made it through that is helpful. I think that the president is doing what he can to fix the problems that came into the country before he became president. I havent kept up with anything political so I dont know what kind of president he is really but I do know that I couldnt do any better so I wont complain lol.
