Virtual US Mobile Phone Number / myLot

Hi. I would just like to ask if any of you have found a way to have a virtual US mobile number for free. I've been looking over the Internet for some time now and I still can't find a solution. I'm signing up for something and I need to receive a PIN code but all it can receive from are numbers on the US. So I just need one US mobile number for this immediate process. I hope someone here could give me suggestions or help me about this matter. Thank you!

I don't think that you will find one for free. Certain VoIP providers may offer a service which allocates you a US phone number. This is usually so that callers from the US can contact you without incurring large overseas charges. I have checked the VoIP providers I use and find that this service seems to be no longer available, though. If you are signing up for something which requires specific US information (such as a phone number, US Zip Code or SSN, then you can be certain that the site is not intended for and won't accept people from outside the US.

Thanks for your insight. Actually, I already have gained a lot of free US phone numbers during this hunting process. However, I still cannot find what I'm looking for, which is a US 'mobile' phone number. I know that it sounds suspicious but I badly need it for a project I'm doing. Thank you again for your response.
