There is a lot of hype about May 21, 2011, and how it is the end of the world. I have read articles and I have looked at websites. As well I have read the bible on these things. Now even though I am a Christian I do not believe that the world will end on May 21, 2011. First lets start off with the 7000 years thing. The people say that the world will end 7000 years after the great flood. These people say that the great flood happened in the year 4990 B.C. They tell you to add 2011 to 4990, but when you do it comes out to 7001. Now to make up for this extra year they tell you that you have to subtract a year because the year 0 does not exist. Now here is the thing when you add 2011 to 4990 the year 0 does not even come into play. As well 7000 years after the year 4990 comes out to be 2010 not 2011. Which means that all of this would have happened last year not this year. Now as well they say that for 5 months after May 21 the world will be tormented and that at the end of the 5 months the world will be destroyed. Now yes the book of Revelations does say that for 5 months the world will be tormented. Here is the thing these people are leaving out a lot of things. Like for one they are leaving out the 7 year reign of the anti Christ, they are leaving out the mark of the beast, the are leaving out the rebuilding of Solomon's temple. They are leaving out the war of Armageddon. Now lets throw in what the bible says about the Lords return. The bible says the no one knows when the lord will return except for god. Now these are saying that the bible says that we can know the exact time that the lord will return. Like I said though the bible says the opposite. There are other things to take into consideration to but i will not get into those things right now. So what I would like to know is what do you think. Do you agree with me or do you disagree with me.

God does not lie, Jesus said in Matthew 24:36 But of that day and hour knoweth NO MAN, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father ONLY. The time is indeed near, for before Jesus said; in vs 32- Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh; So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things (signs given in the entire chapter of Matt. 24) know that it is nigh (near), even at the doors. Verily I say unto you , this generation (that sees those things)shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.

Nerein, I agree 100% with you. God is a mysterious God and He does not lie. No one knows how He thinks. No hidden codes nor anything else can tell us when exactly the world will end. I feel there are people who have an idea of perhaps a time period because Jesus says that there are some who will understand. But nowhere does He say that anyone would predict exactly when the End will be.

One problem is that according to some people for part of the time the earth was on a 360 day calendar. Also the calendar has changed several times over the years. Such predictions are similar to the geologist who said with certainty that there would be a major earth quake in the northwest pacific rim with in the next 43 years. There are even predictions that say the earth will be hit my a comet that will destroy most life as we know it. This will happen in a few million years if the predictions are accurate with the path of the earth and of comets that there is some certainty that the two will collied.

I had not heard that May 21, 2011 is the end of the world. I have however heard that December of next year is the end of the world. Either way it scares me a little bit. The truth is we really don't know when Jesus will return, we don't know what will happen. We can only go by what we hear but we can't believe everythign we hear either. It's all a matter of interpretation as well. There have been a lot of things that have happened, tragic truly tragic things, yet we don't know exactly that it is the end of times. All we can do is prepare, be merry and glad with all and be more kind to one another. We can only do what we can do and what we want to do.

I haven't heard anything about this before. I do not believe that the world will end next month.

Jesus said that the Father alone knows when the world will end. Anyone who thinks they can enter the mind of God by using mathematical calcultions needs to find something more productive to do with his time.
