Computers can be annoying at times

I can't imagine my life without a computer, yet at times they can be so annoying that I feel that they are on this world to irritate humans. The past 5 months are an example of that. First my monitor short circuited, then my hard drive started giving problems, crashed and had to be replaced the same happened to my mouse and now my backup drive had to be formatted. Transferring files, sorting through corrupted files and trying to recover passwords and favourites has been time-consuming and I haven't been finished organizing my computer again. I was wondering who on Mylot has had something similar happen to them?

I see your point and I agree. Computers are very useful and mostly important in our current lives, but that also comes to a cost, not only in money but also in the maintenance those machines request from time to time. Myself had a bad time yesterday casually, trying to repair a power supply cooler giving an annoying noise, only to come to the conclusion I must replace the power supply altogether (yes, a saturday at 10pm).

Yeah, although somputers aremade to make life easier, sometimes they cna be very annoying wehn we get virus, or some part of the computer gets broken. We spend lots of money and we even get stressed out if it's not fixed immediately- we have to back up, clean, etc...

Wow! That's certainly a lot of computer problems that you have faced. I have never faced any of those problems whatsoever and I've had my computer for a long time. In relation to your first problem that your monitor short circuited? Did you have a powercut or anything like that at the time? In relation to your hard drive, I suppose there is the chance that they will malfunction at some point. Mine never has. A really crazy question for you. Was your pc ever dropped or bumped accidentally whilst it was running? If data is being written to the hard drive then this can definitely cause the hard drive to crash and the disks inside will be damaged. I think this is top of the list in terms of main hard drive crashes. It does sound as though you have been very unlucky though. Andrew

No the computer has just had the usual wear and tear. There was a problem with my electric connection a while back resulting in several powercuts which is probably the reason but it is still frustrating. Thanks though.

I've had NONE of those problems. Do you want to know why? Ok, well... It's because... I have a Mac (Macs don't usually have those problems)! It is true that even my 6-7 years old Mac laptop works "flawlessly" and can even run Snow Leopard (the newest Mac OS, but NOT the Lion one).
