So my mother loves writing in our native language hindi, she writes poems. I had told her about mylot a lot of times and then she asked me to post this question here, not that she is getting any paid benefit out of it, its just a hobby. So she asks - what if we were all immortals, what would it be like? i say, our will & actions to make this world better would be stronger then. what do you think?

Ofcourse it couldn't happen so she thanks everyone for taking time to reply to her. i loved her reaction she said- wow they are writing alot!! everyone cares about it so much. she didnt believe if people like that are still living in this world :p So thanks everyone!! i don't know how, but it made her day. ^^ take care. wrote this in one reply because i didn't have alot time to reply everyone, Hope no one minds.

hi, being an immortal is great and nice for us,i think if we were an immortal,no one is selfish or even greedy because we dont feel the suffer and pain.and the world would be great and good.

hi whateva good interesting question. I would hope we would appreciate immortality and thus we might be kinder, wiser and more loving to each other but I am wondering how much of what I wish would be true. If we could all learn to accept each other the way we all were then perhaps wars would cease and we could live in peace.I think we who wanted to be be better people would really work at it and perhaps we would teaxh others so a wave of change of people forgetting their hatreds towards each other and becoming kinder and stronger would make it a wondrous New World.

Well, speaking from many characters I have seen as vampires they say it is very sad to live and watch your loved ones die of old age and yet you never age. And like the character in Interview With a Vampire when he sired the little girl-she will never age or go through the normal growing experiences. I personally would find it interesting for a long time.

If you couldn't die then stupid people could not remove themselves from the gene pool and pass on even more stupid behaviour. Murder would be impossible but you could still make someones life a misery by blinding them or chopping off legs. War would still be possible, in fact, even more common, because one side would need to disable the other and then force them into slavery and misery. It would be the end of religion. No paradise. No afterlife. No reincarnation. No need to fear God. Would other creatures on earth also be immortal? Would everything have to be steralised? It opens some interesting ideas. Thank your mother for me.

it seems that the others have valid and logical responses. They said everything! To add to that, I'll say that If we were born immortal from the beginning, then we would have a sad existence. Just think of the Elves in The Lord of the Rings. Because we are mortal, we look for ways to be immortal. But if were immortal, we would look for a way to be mortal.
