I am now in my first job as an online teacher. Most of the people here are very competitive. Unlike them, I am not competing with anyone here because I just want to do my duties well and at the same time wants to earn money.Knowing that I am just in newbie in this kingd of career, I still have to learn many things, however, many of the people here because of always thinking about the competition, instead of helping me to learn, they are pulling me down. Anyway, I did not have any difficulty in teaching since I am an Education graduate. I just can't understand why are there people who are like this...... I am really offended by this kind of people....

You will learn that you will encounter all kinds of people at work. Not everyone can be nice and work hard. There will always be the kind of people that bring you down and try to take credit for your work. Sorry.

Yes. I think so... I am also thankful for experiencing this situation right now because it is one learning that should be kept. I have came to a realization that it is very hard to trust anyone in the workplace. We should be careful to prt=otect ourselves.

Hi there. Its a tough world out there. Working is not just for earning money but also for reputation or a name someday. Wherever we go people do their best in each journey they are travelling. These co-workers of yours are doing the same thing I guess. As a newbie, I suggest that you don't mind those. People only envy others if they are greater than them, I say maybe you are greater than them or more potential in succeeding is seen in your performance. Don't follow what they are doing. Continue learning the whole system and just mind your business. In every road there are stones. Be careful not to step on others. One day they will realize that you are just doing your job well thats why you are excelling. Don't let those little make faces haunts you, they are not the boss. Do not compete with them, just be yourself. Learn from whatever you are doing so that if you really can't adapt to their world, when you resign you have something to keep from your experience. Have a great day!

Maybe in your workplace, the more student you got then the more money you will earn. I used to be working in a company as an online teacher like you and my officemates were also like that. They horde students and of course students dont stay long and study so what they do is really compete and make sure that they are better. I dont know why working as an online teacher is such a competition. I quit my job there by the way, and I work at home now. Still an online teacher but I have my own students.

I think these teachers should be more concerned about educating the students then competing. This is probably a reason some of our students are unsuccessful to begin with. You just keep pushing on. I think its great you are there for the job and just not for money, what little you get. It's sad what they have done to education funding. Just Sad. Best Wishes!

Yes... It is really a very sad reality. But I just ignored those kind of people because they don't deserve my time and I am trying to be as professional as can be. Thank you..

I think this is really offensive too. Salaries should not be competetive because it is completely unfair. Everyone know people cheat each other out by stealing their friends' work or copying their ideas. So why do people pretend it works out for the better?
