Watching "Taken"

Last week during the Holy week vacation, my husband and i watched DVD in our bedroom.
It was titled "Taken" and the protagonist is Liam Neeson. It was about a divorced father who was a former CIA agent and got divorced from her wife because of his work that gives him little time for his family.
His daughter was kidnapped together with her friend by a syndicate selling girls to moneyed patrons . They were drugged in order to be submissive.
Liam being a former CIA agent tracked the kidnappers and it was really suspenseful. It was really a nice movie, though a bit violent but with morale story. It will keep you glued on the movie to the end.

I seen this a awhile back and it was great. I think this is the first time I have seen Liam Neeson in such a role and he did great. It was one of these movies that kept your attention to the screen. From what I hear it was such a success that they are making a sequel.

ZONE- hopefully theres will not b a sequel..or at least a sequel with new plot..away from his family.. maybe some old nemesis from his special ops days etc..
anyway..if u like liam in Taken..u can check out the new ones UNKNOWN by him..similar vein..a bit milder in actions but clever storyline..check it .if u havent.

TAKEN was one of the best movie of 2008.
and was ranked no.1 by Yahoo movie goers.. until now i think..

Hi rafiholmes. Yes they are making a sequel of Taken, it goes on even as we speak. I just looked up Unknown and it does look very good. I think it is about time Liam Neeson got more into the action roles and he proved himself worthy in Taken. He has been in some great roles but has been tarnished by the Star Wars movies, hopefully these movies are the start of his recovery. Glad to have another movie fanatic on here besides me, cheers buddy

So, that was a 2008 movie and was ranked no. 1. No wonder it's a very nice movie.
It was just now that we have watched it, because we bought the DVD for the Holy week vacation.
Made our vacation worthy.

Taken was a good movie. I love suspense movies and thrillers. Have you seen Shutter Island? That was also good and will get you thinking.

Shutter island is a fantastic movie!! If you liked taken you'll love it. Really good thriller and the ending is completely unexpected. Ooh and it has leonardo di caprio in it which was an added bonus :)

I watched this movie about a few months ago. I thought it is just an ordinary movie but it is suspense and it is really great. I love the role of Liam Neeson, I was really touched by this movie. If my father is alive and have skills like that, I'm sure he will save me like the way Liam Neeson did.

Yes, it seems like an ordinary movie at first and suddenly, it's so suspenseful!
Sad that your father is gone. He could have seen this movie with you also, and i know he will feel that way too as a father.

I have not seen that movie yet but I will make a point of seeing it. It sounds real interesting. I like suspense films with lots of twists. As far as syndicates are concerned, they do exist and are very real. It's sad that we live in a world like this.

Yes, you should watch it. The title is "Taken" and the main protagonist is Liam Neeson. Very nice movie indeed.

oh i love this movie! thanks for posting a discussion about "Taken." Ive seen this thrice, by myself, with my family, and with my friends. I love it because its action-packed, and it shows how much a father/parent would do, even the impossible just to save his beloved daughter. you can never get tired watching this movie....

Really, you watched it thrice. Ours can't be watched another time because it was pirated one lent to us by father-in-law. When we watched it, some parts keeps on pausing!

This was a father that went above and beyond to find his daughter and get her basck. i am not sure i would have had that kind of courahe to pursue something like that alone.@SIMPLYD (90722)

The father being a retired secret agent, whose former job was to track down suspected criminals, gave him the ability and courage to do it. Besides, he has other known assets to help him track them down.

I love this movie. It's a great movie that I never get tired of watching it if it's on HBO or some other movie channels. I would do the same if my daughter was kidnapped and I was a CIA agent. I would hunt them down to get my daughter back.

Yes, my husband said so too. I guess, given that ability, a father would really pursue those kidnappers just to get back his daughter.
It's a feel good movie. I really like it so much too.

Honesty director and writers, the movie can be a lesson for some teens, like what happened to Kim, and can happen to anyone going into a foreign country or locality and do not know anything and anyone, and yet something must We cling to every detail, every detail, we can be helpful, so did Bryan ... The action is very good, and Liam Neeson has proven once again that is a very skilled player!

It was enjoyable.It wasn't incredible,mind you,but sometimes you just want a simple, straight-forward movie that is done well.
And yes,I also loved his no-nonsense style.It's refreshing to see someone who doesn't just stun the bad guys,but kills them,and is willing to go the actual lengths that we're supposed to believe they feel.

Oh I loved that movie! My friend and I were bored at home one weekend so decided to go rent a movie. This guy recommended it to me so we watched it and I was completely hooked!!! Such a good film - was on the edge of my seat the whole time!

I love that movie, too. It makes you aware of the various modus operandi (MO) that syndicates thrive on in trying to victimize gullible individuals. When I watched that movie, I came to the realization that the world we are living on can be so harsh, especially when people are motivated by greed and desire to earn tons of money, no matter what it takes. The movie teaches us to be wary of our environment and to be more cautious about the people around us when we venture to unfamiliar faces.

Correct. It was really a very nice movie and i am glad my husband and i watched it while on our holidays. We told our daughter, who has just arrived from a far away city where she studies, to watch it too.
After watching it, my husband and i both exclaimed "very nice movie".
They really messed with the wrong dad!
