become friend with a 'non-uploader' ?

Got at least a hundred of friend requests from people who have nothing else to do but ''collect'' friends and subscribers. Sometimes they don't even have uploaded a single vid themselves. So why should I become friend with someone who hasn't uploaded something before? For example, if you accept friendship that person could upload a video which contradicts your own views/ claims. Then he might tell everyone that you are promoting a topic but in reality you love the opposite. As for me I often check people's attitudes before I become friends with them. When I see that they have friends which promote cruelty or hatred for example I stay away from them.

I am not sure about you tube and how the whole friend thing there is like. But you are right to be cautious and careful. There are so many scammers and fraudsters today how can you not be leery.
So I too would be leery and careful as to who I accept. I might not be knowledge there enough if it means simply to earn; just be careful with any personal information you input there.

in general there's not much to worry about with fiends. However if you use Youtube not only for uploading some videos of your holidays, concerts you visited etc but if you use it as a platform for sharing your views/ opinions/ criticism about on-going events, i.e. if you are an activist of some kind (e.g. a peace/ environment/ human/animal rights etc. activist) then accepting dubious friends might turn out to be a problem as people who share a common goal will always take a closer look at their comrades-in-arms and their social environment.
Youtube can be a good tool to strengthen movements or to make people aware of problems. The dubious ones know that, too. So your advice to be careful and leery is a very good one for some of us :-)

well am non-uploader my self
i created account just to watch videos rather than to upload my personal video
to be honest i hav uploaded videos but is kept secret and only the person i allowed can see it
am not understanding wat u r trying to say above but i guess its always good to check stranger which i do myself as well.

re what I'm trying to say. Example: say, you were an environmentalist. Now, if someone who is against protecting the environment asks you to become friend with him and you accept he might later upload videos that are against environmentalism without you noticing it. Later it may happen that someone sees your videos who is also an environmentalist and decides to become friend with you but first wants to check your friends. But then he finds out that one of your friends (the one above) is against environmentalism. So he (the other environmentalist) chooses to stay away from you. I hope this example makes it clear what I mean :-)

It's ok if you friend with non uploader youtube member. They still watch your movie and it's great coz you get the traffic any way.
