New glasses that might cost more than 1 grand?

I heard news about this new gadget, that is a vision - aide type of glasses, that you have to pay over $1,000. Won't that be such a good product for the market right? The reason for this cost might be justified, if it is a super gadget. I heard it has a microchip, and a scanner to follow your eyes and pupil movements, and it will help you see things clearer than normal glasses and contact lenses. It might help you gain an X- ray vision, I was just kidding. I was so curious about this super high price glasses, and wondering what it will be to be like when I wear it.

That is outragious for a pair of glasses. There is no way I would pay that much for one pair of them. They would have to be lined with gold LOL.

Did you hear about these contact lenses that will display info of a person when you see him etc.? I saw it in future world on discovery channel. Those will probably also be expensive and we might not use them tomorrow but soon i believe.

For that price I can only see them being beneficial perhaps to those who have a really bad eye sight or going blind as stowyk posted. No surprise with technology and wondering too that although it seems like a lot of money actually for lasik it is like $2000 per eye so that actually would be a deal and less riskier.
