End of the World, May 21, 2011

Philippines
May 18, 2011 9:52am CST
There are lots of advertisement saying that on May 21, 2011, the end will come. Some says that there will be earthquakes or disasters. They say that the world will stop spinning when this day ends. Do you believe this because there are a lot of signs that the world will really end, or do you just ignore it because there are lots of failed predictions regarding the end of the world?

No, please, May 21, 2011 is too soon... I've seen on TV how some people appear so convinced that it's gonna be the end of the world. While they came up with so many reasons, none of them seem reasonable to me. So for now, I'll just wait until Saturday, the date predicted to be the end,and see what happens then.

Yeah, I have heard also, that 2012, the world will truly end... So, where did May 21, 2011 come from? Surely, the world can't end twice in a row. That is not in God's plan, nor is it stated in the Bible. But, I don't believe that the world will end in 2 days or at the end of this year.

hahaha. It sure brings memories when I was still in HS. young people would believe anything that are told by people they really look up to, right? well I was too naive back then! remember that it was also a BIG story that time that its the end of the world in 2000, or much known as 2k! hahaha. I ask our priest (our school priest at that time and we we're in our class retreat and we we're ask if we have any questions, well It was all over the news and I ask him if it was true. he told us (he was looking at me the whole time! that only god knows and we should not believe everything that people wold say because it's not their business to say or predict the end of the world. It's God's job to do that and if that would really happen then we should accept our fate.) I was even tempted to ask what about the tale on Noah's ark? did it really happen? if it did then who would be the next noah? it would be too late for us if we don't believe some lunatic prophet, the last thing we'll see are those big waves coming at us!!! :) and what about those people who says that it's 2012 not 2k, it was told in the bible, right? what part in the bible anyway? never got to asked those last 2 question! hahaha. he was giving me a weird look and the question was really out of what we are talking about, but hey, it was a very good question at that time and I can always say, pardon moi, I am just a young kid! :) But now, I don't believe anything that I think/feel is not true. The priest was right after all..only god knows. and the only thing we can do is pray! :) so no worries there! ;)

That's weird. I don't believe end of the world predictions with a given specific date. You know there is a time difference in every country, right? And May 21 would come to East Asia a full day before America, right? Does that mean to say that the world would start to rapture in Asia first, and destruction would travel westward in a duration of a full day towards the Americas? By the time it reached America it's already the 22nd of the month in Asia and your prediction of "the world will stop spinning when the day ends" would turn out false.

Wow, i love how you analyzed this. You are right, we have different days and times and predicting when the day will end is really rubbish. Oh well, I hope people will stop telling false information or anything like these.

There will always be strong rumors about the end of the world each year. It's just over-rated and I don't believe any of the dates being suggested. Not saying that I don't believe in the end of the world though , because I believe in it and that's subjective on my part. I know some don't believe and it's pretty much to each his own. But having a confirmed date , now that's just too much. Couldn't be the angels whispering the date. Highly unlikely .. so yeah May 21 2011? Not working for me. I'll probably be eating burritos on that day , teehee...

Hi Zed, Yes, I believe in the end of the world too. After all, everything grows old, and the world is not exempted from this natural course. But I don't believe that it's gonna happen this year, or even next year, well, most probably not in this generation. It's gonna count over a million years yet before the end of the world, and I'm just glad I won't be around when that happens.

If they have the exact date then I totally don't believe in it. Since it stated in the bible that the end of days is like a thief in the night. You will not know the date and time that they will come. And also, that's my mom's birthday, I still want to celebrate her 60th birthday. =)

Yeah, you've just got to ignore these wacky people. Or, you could say you plan on staying behind during the rapture, and then could ask them if they wouldn't mind giving you all of their possessions and money, since they won't be needing them :D

hahaha! That's a great idea! Maybe I can start "lending" their belongings on Friday! Anyway, I hope people will stop saying rubbish things, it's irritating and it just scares most of the people.

That is practically their whole purpose- they use fear to trick people into believing their beliefs. Hypocritical people...

Man knows only halftruths, and acting upon them are foolish.Only God knows the whole Truth,so it is better to ignore man made predictions.

Hi. harries. Welcome to myLot! I don't believe that the world will end this Saturday. I first heard about this on yesterday on an discussion forum. If God did not specify the "EXACT" date in the Bible of when the world will "REALLY end", then I can't believe any predictions that man has made!

Yes. I also heard this news. I believe the coming end of the world, but I can not believe the predictions made ??by humans, the final day of the world, will come, and that day will surely come, only God knows, when it will happen. The important thing for us now, is closer to God, and away from all the prohibitions of God. That way, we will be ready to face the end of the world.

i agree, there will be an end of the world. But the Bible did not said when will it be...But Heaven and hell is true...We must be prepared for the coming of Christ...God did not want us to be in hell,He loves us so much that whoever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life.and that is in heaven. It is for free.Just believe in HIM,ask forgiveness and accept Jesus as Lord and Savior.

I believe that the world would eventually come to an end but when it will come, we will never know. Even Jesus Christ said that nobody knows when the end will come. And in the Quran, it is stated that only God knows when the end is. Nobody knows and nobody can predict. Those who say that God has spoken to them about the end of the world are just fakes. There have been so many predictions of the end of the world in times past but nothing happened and what did all these false prophets say to this? We'll see when Sunday comes around and we shall ask Camping, what happened to his prediction. His first prediction about the end of the world didn't materialize. What makes him think that this prediction would be fulfilled? And to think that there are gullible people who believe him.

They are all interpretations which are guesstimates. Nowhere in the Bible are the dates given. If anything it is mentioned that the second coming of Christ will be unannounced which would be the judgement day - the end of the world. It is better not to stipulate but be in readiness.

Well..our ozone layer is messed up. Human beings acting more beastly than being human.Pollution destroying our natural resources. We are not getting any better. And we know it is coming. There must be some way to save this planet or it will just depreciate till its gone.I dont want to be around when this happens. All of us are going there...some later , some earlier.I have learned to live on the hope that dying is meeting Him and it will be the most amazing experience I will ever had since my existence. We all the natural catastrophes we're having for the past years,I try to prepare for the end..on a daily basis now.

State you sources friend as I have not heard of this at all. I thought the date was December 21, 2012....There have been so many natural diasters lately that I tend to believe something is going on. Humans do this to ourselves, greedy and over populated, the world should just self purge. The world can't possibly survive at the rate we are destroying it. I am just not sure of your date though, so I will check back with you in a couple of days.

The moon is so full three nights now. Last night, from out of the blue, a piercing lightning flashed followed by a rumbling thunder. It is already Thursday, the 19th of May! That means we have two more days to live! Any interesting activity we could work on for forty-eight hours?

I do not believe that the end will come in the world. Because I think that both are talking and when it became 2000.Then again I had done so as to bring confusion into the hearts of people. You may be right this time people. But I personally until you see with your eyes can not believe it. Hopefully not coming end of the orld because I want to live and spend the rest of my life with my family.Have a nice day

Well, its kind of funny because I think a lot of people is obsessed with "the end of the world". There are already a lot of instances that made many people to worry about this thing. We've passed many predictions that the world would at a certain date and time. But I guess, no one can really tell on when will the end of the world be. Let's just all hope for our safety. :)
