I am so tired of the rain. Where I live, it has been raining for a week and it doesn't look like it is going to stop any time soon. My husband and I had plans to take the kids camping this weekend, but with the way that things are looking outside, I just don't see that happening. The kids and I are getting very antsy and we need some ideas on what to do. So what do you like to do in your spare time? Is there anything you can think of that is fun, and not too expensive?

I forget how old your children are. My kids usually would play with each other or read when the weather was bad. We played board games. I let a whole group of kids use scrap fabric and make little pillows. Do science experiments, like the volcano in a small container. Really it is just vinegar and baking soda in a flip top container. Look for things like that online. It depends on what you have or what you are willing to let them mess up.

Thanks for the great ideas. I know that the next rainy day, I will have to try some of them out. I think that when it comes to keeping kids busy, I'm willing to clean up in the name of fun. Thanks for responding to my discussion. I look forward to trying out some new things, happy mylotting.

There are a lot of fun things to do, and the kids will only be kids once, might as well enjoy them.

Bless your heart. We've had lots of rain too. In April it rained 25 out of 30 days. I'm not sure what the number is for May, but I'm pretty sure we've had rain at least 20 days out of 27. The family next door has twin boys - age 2 - and a baby that is only about 2 months old. I noticed that the dad finally went out and bought rain coats and hats and boots for the boys so they could slosh around in the back yard in the rain (when there was not a thunder storm, of course).

Actually that isn't a bad idea. I might just have to go out and do the same thing. I was happy yesterday because it was finally sunny and nice outside. I am not sure if it's supposed to be nice today, it's cloudy right now so it's anyone's guess. I am planning on taking the kids to the park today though, and if it is raining, I think it will be time to break out the rain gear and have some fun. Thanks for taking the time to respond to my discussion. I really appreciate it. Happy Mylotting.

Oh i wish it would rain here! Fun to do and not too expensive. make a board game together! My sister and i made one coloured the board made the game peices and cards and came up with rules. We called it going to grandmas house. It included things like the towns we go through when we drive there...stopping for gas..stopping to shop. Things to do there and then to win you had to make it home. BUT you had to roll a certain number to leave grandmas or risk spending all your money there.

Good day to you CRIVAS, Here in my place the weather for the last few days were really a rainy season. However, the rainy days here in my place brought a little convenience since the weather last week were too hot. Thus, when the rain fall, the weather somehow improved. Nevertheless, I know and understand your point, somehow the rain ruin your plan to go for an outing. On the other hand, since it is a rainy weather after all, why not prepare a food where you can share to each other - like preparing a pan cake - hence, it is amiable to eat during rainy days.
