Trip to Maine

I have 3 weeks of vacation coming up & I was thinking about going up to Maine for a week. I'm not looking for big town or city. I was looking up list of small towns in Maine the other day on line & I came across a place called, "Belfast, Maine". I found a small motel just out side of downtown. Looks cozy enough. Anybody ever took a vacation in Maine & if you did, ever been to or near a town "Belfast"? Just wanted to ask what's there to do & some interesting things to do there & I was hoping somebody had some sugestions.

There are many enjoyalbe walks you can take along the shore in Maine. I might suggest that you look for lighthouses as you travel. They are very interesting and most give you a place to get out and view the coast and ocean.

Thank you. I'll look into that. I'm driving up from just out side of Philadelphia & when I typed in the direction to the place where I was staying, it did look like second half of the highway I'll be taking is along the coast line, starting near end of Massachusetts & begining of the New Hampshire. I do like shore lines & light houses.
