I just sweat over this backdoor virus detected by Norton Anti - Virus a couple days ago. I was disregarding it, since the Norton Anti - Virus software detected it. When I click on detail, it actually wants me to remove it manually, their automated system can't help remove it for me. So, I was kind of sweat over it. They want me to download this additional "backdoor removal tool", and follow the instruction to install it. I did, and now it seems that virus is repaired, or gone. So, I hope that it won't happen again. I just wonder, day by day, as I randomly make search on google and other websites, we always face virus attack. When can we have a virus - free online environment I just curious. Tired of watching it day by day like that.

When you have encountered a tough virus which your software cannot detect or remove efficiently, it is always suggested that you download the free Virus remover made from kaspersky. It will run at safe mode, perform many kinds of deep scans, and it is sure to find the culprit. Since it runs on safe mode, it will delete/remove for sure, because the virus will not be running.

Try Microsoft Security Essentials, Malwarebytes, and Spybot search&destroy. All 3 are free to use and can be installed together on the same computer. Besides, I've only had bad experiences with Norton products overall, so I wouldn't recommend them, but that's only from my own experience.

I used to have Norton but I have never heard of te backdoor removal tool. That must be something new with them. I currently use Microsoft Security Essentials for my anti-virus protection. It is a free download online.
