Hi. I need your help. Am I right? Once you get come out of the closet , don't you become too big to fit back in it? I keep remembering the saying my mom used to use, there is more room out than in. Being Straight I can only imagine how freeing it must be to come out. So I thought I ask. am I right. Once you are out There is no going back? Thanks for your help.

Heyya sarah! I thought for a moment from your discussions title that Subway had struck again and was going to get another letter..but once I was in here...I saw it wasn't that at all. I am not gay but I hope you don't mind me stopping in and saying what I think about that rotten closet.
I think no one is small enough to stay in the closet and I can not imagine how good it would be to finally have the chance to get out of there. I think that once out...they wouldn't want to be small enough to fit back in there.
There are too many people that suffer a stifling existance because there are people out there that think they can tell someone else what is right and wrong and how they should live. I think everyone should be too big for the closet. Life is too short and people aren't always right.

Lol! No I was watching a damn good documentary on PBS about being gay in America. I thought I would ask gay MyLotters but you said it perfectly! Once free from the closet they can't fit back in.

First off let me say, these days there is no reason to stay in the closet. I am Not gay but I do not believe that anyone should have to live a lie. Society kept gay people down for decades. Now it's about time they have the right to be who they are. I know that certain parts of the country there are people who still do not like gay people. Like the south with all those right wing yahoo's. No, once you're out of the closet there is not going back, and why would you want to? Be who you are, there is nothing wrong with it. Forget all those religious freaks that say "the bible says it's wrong" it's all crap. You are a human being like the rest of the people. Be proud to be who and what you are.

I couldn't say it any better. These days there are more people like us , straight but not narrow! There is more support. I think back in the day , you came out , got thrown out of the house and you went to either NY or SF. Now you come out, one of your parents say, I always knew! and you live A freer life at home!

However you want to say it, and whatever you're taking about, what's said, can not be unsaid.

I think that's what makes coming out of the closet, such a big deal. Because it is the point of no return. Of not going back.
I think that not physically, but mentally one gets bigger. With all the understanding love that he or she gets for coming out.

Yes. That's what I meant . One's self worth grows and they can't fit in that closet.
