Hi pro_ojha! When I was taking Geography, I learned that your country has the fastest growing population right now. I also learned a little about your culture, but nothing like I have learned from my friends here who are from India. The people I have met here from India have exhibited a great kindness and wonderful personalities. They have been very patient and helpful to me whenever I have asked questions or been curious about their culture. I am so grateful to have met them I do know a couple from India that are also very nice. Intelligent too. They speak three or four different languages. They run a store in my area. I go there because I like visiting with them for a few minutes..lol.

I have never visited India nor think I will do it as it´s too far away from my country and it´s too expensive. But I am learning a bit each day about you country and much of my interested in India latelly has been triggered by the wonderful indian peple that I have met here at mylot. I have heard that India will play a still bigger role in the world in the near future. It is a big and growing country. Congratulations!

I've never been and have no real desire to - I'm not much of a traveller and I don't do very well in hot countries! The country's history is pretty fascinating (and all the associated legends and so on), though some parts of the culture I dislike (specifically arranged marriages, very macho men and the way families keep quiet about abuse). Then again, all countries have things that aren't perfect. Since I'm in the UK, I've grown up with, worked with and know plenty of Indian-descended people (since it used to be British until good old Gandhi did his thing and helped gain rightful independence). My first girlfriend was Indian, in fact. I even sat at the next desk to a British guy of Indian descent when I was working in Paris! To be honest, I don't see it makes any difference whether someone's Indian or not: like anywhere in the world, there are good people, bad people and kinda average people in the middle.

I am an Indian and may be your question is not for me, but I would like to add the thing which makes us good the democratic system we have. But I think we also take care of others and also learn from different countries and also train them for better we have.
