I just signed my contract an 2 hours ago...and it was really a good moment for me...I guess since I gave my best to be hired and got it!!! But then reading and understanding the contract also made me feel bound, and I'm a bit scared not to meet the standard requirements to become a regular employee... How do you feel when you sign the contract??? Would you feel happy or bound and apprehensive??

First off, CONGRATULATIONS! It is a normal feeling when you fear over not meeting required expectations of the company. But don't fret my friend! Just do your job to the best of your capability and develop good relationships with your co-workers. Surely, you will climb the ladder of success eventually! Be professional but be cooperative in order to develop camaraderie within the work environment. Sometimes, character will push you further rather than your work itself. It holds true to me because basically, politics within a company is present. So it is therefore important to have a good working relationship with your co-workers. Cheers!

I think it is natural to feel alittle apprehensive at first. And the language they use for these contracts are alittle intimidating at best. I hope you will find that it isn't as bad as you thought. I started my last job as a temp and was asked to come on as a steady employee. I was very proud of the fact that they wanted to keep my on. And the contract turned out to be less instrictive than I thought it would be.

Contracts are set up to be intimidating so they will be taken seriously. All you can do is your best and hope for satisfaction.

I think that it is inevitable that you feel a little bound - that is the point of contract after all. However, a contract simply makes clear both the employer and employee responsibilities and shouldn't be something to fear. They can be broken!

Wow congratulation on new job . Don't worry to much about your qualification as long you give your best in what you do every thing will alright. Contract can be really tricky so reads carefully and I hope every thing will be fine for you. Have not sign any contract because I my family owned store so its never really need a paper work but I need to learn about it someday for my side job.

thanks!!! I was really trying to understand the contract, I think I got apprehensive because it's still in a probationary status and it's not that secure...but I'll just give it my best!!!

Here in our company, you have to sign a contractual employment contract for your first 6 months, after which the probationary contract for another 6 months. Then, on your first year, you will sign the regular employment contract . I guess, when i signed my contractual employment contract first, i have some apprehensions too of whether i can make it to be a regular employee. But my hard work paid off when i finally signed my regular employment contract. Whew . . .now i am on the 5th year in this company. It being my 5th job, over how many years of working!

Don't worry bout it. If you will follow the company policy and do your best, you should be fine. I remember when I was just starting out. I did not have the confidence to go through a 3 month training. But who would have thought that I will become a regular employee and stay there now for almost six years. :)

I think a little bit of apprehension is normal, because you're entering a new situation. but they wouldn't have hired you if they didn't think you'd be able to do it, so I'm sure everything will be fine.
