In going to school for the very first time... Just like when the other kids went to school for the very first time, this time, I still feel the excitement when Zyruz, our youngest child, went to school yesterday. His very first time as being student/pupil. You can see his excitement in the photo I uploaded with this post. He had his big bag lol, his plastic envelope with bond papers and other art materials. His building blocks. And he even did not forget to wear his name tag. lol Not just me or me and my wife. There are other parents who had their mobile phones with cams who also took shots of their children's first day of school. So how was it with your child's first day of school? How excited were you when your child went to school for the very first time? ~~ NEILâ„¢~~

I have done the first day three times. My daughter and two grandchildren. It went well. I was more nervous the first time with my daughter. She had a weird teacher and she immediately found my daughter to be hyper. Had to put her through a bunch of tests to varify it. It was interesting to say the least.

the other first days of my other children were not that exciting. but this time, a more exciting not only of us the parents but also to the teacher of my son. exciting and even challenging since she has to utilize some of her Filipino language, specifically Tagalog. it happens that Zayzay speaks Tagalog now after the surgery (because he stayed in Manila for 3 months) and 2 other children.

dialect commonly or usually used here in Cebu is Cebuano or Visayan dialect. so the teacher have to practice more of her Tagalog dialect to be able to communicate better with 3 Tagalog speaking children, including Zayzay.

I can totally relate to this discussion. My daughter just started pre-school yesterday and we have an entire album of pictures already. We took pictures of her when she got into her uniform and hubby took some pictures inside the classroom (yes, we even asked permission to do that). My daughter took summer school in preparation for regular schooling and I think it prepared her well. She did very well during her first day at school, made a lot of new friends and became excited to go to school again. This morning, when I woke up, she was already gone to go to school. I think parents get too excited because kids going to school is like a sign that your kids are growing up.

I was very excited when my children go to school for the first time. I completed all the requirements of my child's school. I'm more excited than my son.

I was so excited when my daughter went to school for the first time. I also have her picture on the first day. Your son looks really excited.I even waited for my daughter outside and trying to see her inside the classroom. I'm happy to see that she's enjoying her stay then. But now, she's already in high school and I still have that excitement because it is another new chapter of her life.

Hi! I don't have children yet but I have a niece who went to school for the first time, she's 3. And I have a nephew who is now in Grade One. I was excited for them but their parents are even more excited, more excited than those two. They bought complete school supplies for their children. A big bag also for the boy and pink bag for the girl. Too bad, the girl does not want to go to school anymore. She would not stop crying on her second day.

I have the same stories, but that is when my younger brother's first day of school. I observe, all of us in the family were excited and my brother was not. He do not want to live the house. It was a hard time for us on the first day of school, because we will going to miss him and of course he will going to miss us too. He was there, complete uniform, complete school supplies. He was lonely waving, I was hiding my tears. But I felt excited and happy because he is on school, he will learn many things.

It was exciting. Dearra was scared though. She was one of those who started crying, and didn't want to go.

Hello there! It's been quite some time since I've been on mylot and so I hope you've not forgotten me. I've not got children yet, but I can say I would most likely be concerned for their first day of school and missing them terribly! I would think my child would also be a bit apprehensive themselves! School is a big and scary deal, especially for the first time!

i'm not a parent yet but I'm sure when i am one I will be jsut as excited because it's letting your kid go for a whole day. It's kinda hard. But exciting too, because your child really wants to go.

Hi neildc i can feel the excitement because my children(twins) are about to go to school.I have rather mixed feeling as i also think how they would be able to stay in the school till 4~5 hours as they cannot sit at one place at home then how will they sit on bench for a long time. Then i give solace to myself by thinking that every child goes to school for the first time & their parents might be as tense as me at this point.

I know what you mean! When my daughter started kindergarten I was so nervous for her! I never had to leave her anywhere since she was born. She was very excited and so was I although my heart was a little heavy at the thought of leaving her. I took my camera and got some lovely shots of her playing in the classroom. When the time came for the parents to go I half expected tears instead she told me to go! Lol! It is a huge milestone for the children and I do think that the parents are more emotionally affected than the kids! I love the photo of Zyruz...hope he had lots of fun!

i guess it is natural for parents to feel more excited especially if the child is a firstborn. i had also pictures taken with their first days in school when my children were young. don't worry, this, too, will pass.
