Why don't you have an Avatar picture?

This is aimed at mainly at the mylotters that have been here awhile and still have not yet added a picture. So why is it? I think having a picture helps others to remember you better. All are welcome to answer. Maybe you took awhile to choose one too to upload. I'm curious why? I look forward to everybody's response

hi.. Surely avatar is the important thing at least for me as it is always helping me to recognize friends more easier. So its good to have it. I have uploaded your animated avatar in box 6(in MysD's box).. Upload that one and it will be animated in discussions too.

Mysdianait your always welcome to post. I really enjoy reading your comments. Also this discussion is open to everyone that wishes to have their say. So thank you I like you avatar pic, it suits you well... but if you change it I look forward to seeing it. I love sunsets. I've got some photos of a red sun, I took them a few years ago when we had bad smoke from the bushfires.

Red Sun - This is a Photo I took of the Sun when we had the distructive victorian fires in Feb 2009
Here you go... This one is the Best one,in contrast between the tree branches. All my others just look like a red circle in the sky. It was a horrible time, so many people lost thier lives.. My dad lost his home and still to this day rebuilding, 2 years on...

I've always wondered about it, too. Some myLotters here who have ratings of over a thousand hasn't setup their avatars yet and it makes me think if they even know how to navigate through their profile page. I'm saying they're illiterate when it comes to webpage navigation, I'm just wondering if they know how their profile page works. Or maybe they have their own reasons why they haven't put up any pictures yet, or maybe they're planning not to at all. You know what, you'll only know if you ask them.

I've only had one answer so far but they were reasonably New.. Their excuse was Laziness! Let's hope some more come forward and tell us why... I would really like to know why? And it seems I'm not the only one Thanks frontvisions for your comment.

Maybe some people prefer to be invisible, and both said sweety_81 afraid not to misuse the internet, but can not add their own photos and anything else like me for example.

I'd prefer not to use personal photos as I too would like to remain unanimous. There are so many pictures on the net and now with Facebook, where there are many personal pics, you need to be extremely careful who you let view them... once its on the net it is so easy for others to take and do as they please with them...

Hi Pinklilly, May be they don't know how upload avatar??? May be they don't want us to identify them??? May be they are not able to select suitable ones for them?? There may be one of the reasons they don't have avatar pictures.

Yes sjvg, maybe they don't know how, and are too embarrassed to admit it. There are plenty of discussions explaining how to, if they search for these discussions There are many reasons why. That is why I'm asking mylotters to share, so as to give us some insight on their reasons

Ouch! That went straight into me! Although, I'll excuse myself that I've just been here only for a couple of days only. Well, I guess the reason for me not putting up a picture on my avatar is...LAZINESS. I'm just lazy to organize my profile. That's it! Haha!

Oh my! I guess I just got spank to get moving on towards working on my avatar picture. Hmmm...maybe I'll be putting one once I reach the 100 posts level. That's something new to look forward for me. There you go, you can take out the Lazy tag. Just put it back when I'm not able to change my avatar picture after my 100th post, will you MysD? Haha!

A few reasons. Laziness, for one. Second, I don't want to use a copyrighted image and get in trouble. And, I don't think any clipart would be something I want. I'm also not putting up any personal picture. But, mostly, just because it doesn't seem important.

Hello Angelwriter, I like your name... you need a pic of an Angel to compliment your name... Thank you for sharing your reasons. I totally understand not putting up a personal picture. Maybe one day you might find a picture you like and add it

Well, my apprehensions are that the picture could be misused online. hence, I have avoided so far.

I understand your apprehension, you do have to be careful on the internet. Once I posted a pic of my daughter with an Afro wig on and somebody took it and edited it and put someone elses face and I was shocked and sickened when I saw it... so now I am really reluctant to post any personal photos online. I like your bunch of flowers their really sweet and they have pink lilies which are my favourite.

It's up to the individual really, whether or not they want to share there personal pic with the world. It's just as easy to find a pic you like on the net to use or make up one yourself like I did. However the site I used no longer exists.
