Oodles of Noodles!!

Oodles of Noodles (pre-packaged ramen noodles with seasoning packets here in the states) are so darn good, but so high in sodium. I love them for a quick lunch when I don't have time to pack a lunch for work. I always add at least a little bit of veggies to mine, such as about half a cup of kale or collards or a few small stalks of broccoli, and I take a bag of baby carrots to work to munch on for a snack. Also, I only use about 2/3 of the seasoning packet since it's so high in sodium. I was just preparing myself some and noticed the little packet of noodles is designed for 2 servings. Ha! I know they are not meant to be used as a meal and you are supposed to substantiate this product with other foods, but the product is so small in size it seems funny at times to look at what products specify as the amount of servings. I often put a dash of garlic and some fresh herbs like basil or parsley in mine as well and try to eat extra veggies or a salad when eating this delicious and dirt cheap food! How do you like your Oodles of Noodles?

The sodium is in the seasoning packet, not the noodles. Oftentimes, I don't even use the packet and season with my own herb combinations. Other times, I might use just a dash of the packet with my herbs. I only use the ramen when I'm not in the mood to make regular pasta but that isn't often. I usually have some kind of pasta three to five times a week. Love it!!!

Using a moderate amount of my own seasonings etc just seems to enhance the taste of the noodles. I love pasta so much that I wouldn't do anything to cover up its taste.

I agree such a small package but yet considered 2 servings because they expect u to eat it with something else which seems to be the route of most foods. However not everyone eats that way. Ours are called Ramen noodle. I usually drain the broth after cooking them with whatever veggies, usually a can of mixed veggies, and maybe some cheese on top of it.

My kids love them. We only have them a few times a month at most usually. My kids like the beef flavor with a can of corn mixed in and some ground turkey. My sister does not use the seasoning packet because she can't have MSG, but she will make the noodles by themselves with some meat or veggies.

I love ramen noodles! I haven't had them in quite some time though. I used to get the Vegetable flavor and add chopped up broccoli and when I'd the chicken flavor I'd add shredded chicken. So tasty :) I stopped buying them because of the sodium, but it's great to buy in bulk, it's inexpensive when I live, can buy a 24pk for $5.00
