I do not really mind buying second hand books. If it is in good condition i prefer second hand as it also saves me money. Only if it is one of those books that i really must read as soon as it has come out i go for a new one. Else i do not mind waiting for some time and checking if it is out in second hand stores.

If the book is in a really good condition, I also would buy second hand books. They usually are a lot cheaper and are good as the new ones. I bought a lot second hand Medicine books, the new ones are pretty expensive and the used ones usually cost half of the price. I remember that the last book that I bought as soon it was released was Harry Potter and Deathly Hallows, that book I sure could not wait to read.

I personally love old books. Second-hand bookshops are like a treasure trove; I could happily spend an afternoon browsing one in search of good finds. I do find though, that stock choices are a bit rubbish. generally, if i'm looking for something specific, I'll buy it new or good condition second-hand from amazon. If I'm just looking for something new to read, I'll happily browse a second hand book shop.

I have always felt that buying a new book to read, except those required by schools, as a very heavy expense. I love reading but I normally just patiently look for books at sales, especially the 2nd hand ones.

I would say that the only books I buy new are recipe books and books that I buy fro presents. All my others have been passed on by friends or bought from charity shops. You can pick up books just like new for a tiny fraction of the costof a new book.

I love reading books. So, no matter whether they are brand new or second hand. However, I am so conscious with the price of the books specially foreign books, I always go to my favorite bookstore "Book Sale", they have a lot of books that I really want to read. They also have some back issue of those old magazines. Whenever I pass in this bookstore, I can't control my feet to go and to read there. And those books as if talking to me to read them. " Read me". Actually, I have a lot of books in my house. I feel like I have my own bookstore or mini library. Moreover, most of them are second hand books. Thanks to Book Sale for selling this books. I can read a lot of books.

I love going to book sales too. I just love going to any place that has books to read. Book shops where i live allow us to return the books after we read and exchange for other books and there is no time limit. I just find books that are in good shape every weekend. :)

I am a bookaholic. I used to buy only new books but once I retired, I started to buy used books at our local thrift shop. These days, I'm downloading ebooks from the library. I've rarely purchased a hardcover book and surprisingly, the library has them on ebooks almost as soon as a new title comes out.

I always buy second hand books as long as the words are still readable. For me there's no difference buying the old stock books that the new one except worn-out covers. I prefer to buy the second hand because it is a lot cheaper than the new ones. There are lots of book shops in our place which offered cheaper prices with second hand books so I always go there to shop.

Buying second hand books is better than buying a new one. You can help the environment by doing that. Nowadays it is practical to buy second hand books as long as they are not text books. In my case I have stopped buying books. Before I had my iPad and smartphones, I preferred to rent books rather than buy them. Nowitzki just download classic novels fo free and I think its much better.

I tend to buy more second hand books, it's the same text it's just been read by someone else before.. I can usually get them for half the price. I only buy new books if it's not been around long enough to get it second hand and I'm just too excited to read it(very rare lol). I find great deals on books on ebay and amazon, sometimes I can get free books at the public library depending on the shape they are in.

I used to buy brand new books. But I don't mind second hand books as well. Nowadays, I borrow books from the library in order to save money. If there are books that are newly released that I would want to read, I'd get them from the second hand stores. Some are willing to get it for you.

I don't mind buying second hand books. As they are cheaper than the new ones.We have a book trade store that I go to.When you trade in your books, they give you a credit to use in the store.Or you can buy them at lower prices if you don't want to trade. The book store comes in handy with my 2 granddaughters. There taste in books is always changing. They are 6 and 9,they love the book exchange.

honestly speaking I do prefer to buy second hand book rather than buying for a new one.Aside from that often times I just borrow my classmates book in have it xerox.Being so practical is not bad.I'm fourth year college now but ever since I never bought a new book.I prefer to save it for my other expenses.

I really don't care as long as the second-hand book is in good condition. most of my books I buy new because I get this satisfaction in crinkling the pages of a new book. However, I recently bought a Spanish textbook that was in very good condition used online for practically nothing. Depending on the better deal, I buy books both new and used.

I buy second hand books as long as there are no food stains that are visible on them! That definitely throws me off the book. Sometimes I buy a book "first hand", but I try to find a good sale first. The only time when I don't wait for a sale is when the book is from an author that I have been waiting to write and publish another book.
