Do you do it yourself?

I have now lived in my house for nearly 4 years and there are several DIY jobs on the go that I have started and have yet to finish. As I am a single parent I don't have much choice but to do it myself. I don't mind painting but I am not very good at it, I miss bits or get paint in places I don't want it, that is why I would rather have someone else do it hahhaa
. I have friends that love doing DIY and get their jobs around the house done quickly! When I was younger I remember my mum doing it all, my dad had no interest in doing it I don't think or maybe he was quite happy to leave my mum to get on with it! Hahaha If I had the money I would pay someone to do it proffessionally for sure.
How about you? Who does the DIY in your house?

In my house everyone slacks on those things unless someone is coming over and it has to be a gorgeous house immediately. It took 6 years of procrastination to get my kitchen re-done not because of funds which is usually the case. I think when I move out with an apartment of my own I won't mind DIY projects, I love painting rooms, I've had a lot of fun experiences doing that :)

Haha, well you should ask one of your friends who enjoy DIY work just as much as I do to come over and help you!lol

I do quite a bit of it. I'm not going to say I'm much good, but I try.
When its more than I can handle I do hire someone to do it, like right now we are getting the roomie's oldest nephew to help us with some jobs.
He needs the cash and we need the help.

Those three letters enough to send a shudder down my back and make me go stone cold. I remember the last time I was let loose with a tin of dulux, the poor carpet and it wasn't even my pace either! Got more paint on me and the carpet than what I was supposed to be painting ha ha! I'd rather not decorate full stop, when you live in rented accommodation the landlord takes care of most of it including the bills! Another reason NOT to own a home. In my parents home it's actually my mum who does things believe it or not, anything big and the professionals have to be called in. So DIY is NOT a bloke thing.

Oh yes I know what you mean there about where the paint ends up haha. I am in rented but I am responsible for the interior decor and up keep, shame they don't supply the paint though as it can get expensive eh? When we were in rented before they offered to come and paint the house but the ex said no, he didn't want people inside the house but there you go thats exes for ya haha

If I have time to do it, then I do it myself. Of course my limitations are my skills. And to mention, I am so damn clumsy. But painting is so much fun, despite the ugly effect on my house later on. Usually I will try to paint section that has less visitors like the garage and paid a pro to the paint the rest of the house.
