Those tight hugs and kisses worry me...

Maybe I just get too engrossed with reading novels or watching sad movies. In novels and movies when someone gives a tight hug to their loved ones, they die after awhile. When they are unusually sweet and caring, they die soon. My son usually gives me a kiss before going to school in the morning and hug me in a hurry even though he has enough time. But this morning it was a little different. He looked at me first, then said "Mother," then gave me a very tight hug as if he doesn't wanna let go and then kissed me. It was so different from any other days and it got me scared and a bit worried. So when school was over, I asked my husband if he came to pick him up but my son and his nanny already went home. I felt safe and glad when they arrived.

At some point in time, people will change how they do things with you. Some factors might show them the value of family that make them value a person more than they usually do and so they'll show it gradually. Most of the time that's what my mom does and so I got used to her becoming so caring all of a sudden. People from her work show and tell her stories about their family and when my mom likes it she does it to us.

I agree Xannex. Sometimes how our loved ones treat us is in effect of some life altering scenarios that they've witnessed. For example that at school, our kid's class topic is about showing how we love our parents. In effect, our kids are manifesting their feelings by showing their love to us by tight hugs and kisses. Or it could be that they've watched something in the TV. There are actually a lot of factors that would serve as stimuli to our kids actions.

Yeah we have that sort of "pamahiin" my friend. And even if I am not so much of a superstitious I might feel the same way. Good to know your son is safe now at home. See ya around my friend.

I agree. I'm not very superstitious as well but then it happened to me before. And sometimes i think about what i had learned in life that we need not love something or somebody too much as God is a very jealous God and He might take them away. So when i had that sudden rush of fear today, I prayed to God not to take my son away.

Very well said my friend, you knew what happened to my sister two months ago. Well, that's one thing I learned. That we shouldn't love anything or anyone above him, because after all, everything and every one is passing while He is eternal and forever lasting.

Wow, I also feel like that too. Like if my mother or my father is so sweet to me, I always feel so sad and worried about them because I always watch drama shows or movies in the TV and those people who are suddenly sweet will die. It just makes me worried whenever I experience that. I guess we're just too much into drama.

Maybe we're just too sensitive but it's not only about the movies. They do happen in real life. But i know i need not worry because i believe in God. So today i prayed that God would bring my son home safe and sound. So now, I'm just thankful that God answered my prayer.

I avoid watching these sad movies ever since I fell ill and am at home. They are a waste of money and time... as they end up reminding me of many things that keep me sad.

Haven't watched sad movies for a very long time. I don't like feeling sad as well.

Really interesting thought. I never viewed it like that but I suppose it's true. Our brains are pretty well trained to things like this I guess. I suppose that's why I don't like saying goodbye. Goodbyes are always so permanent. I prefer "See you soon" cause I find some solace in that.

I hate goodbyes as well. I have a phobia with that. So i always tell my family and friends that we shouldn't say good bye. It's just too negative. Goodbyes are like permanent, not seeing each other anymore. I believe in instincts and sometimes they are pretty scary accurate.

Yup, indeed you are reading and watching too much sad novels and movies, Hug should represent happiness and not sad thoughts, worrying for your kid is normal, but worrying cause of a tight hug is not normal. It's time you start watching Comedy movies!

Sudden coughs without an obvious reason behind them scare me, because if that happens in a movie, where a character starts to cough without a reason, they usually have something like lung cancer, and they die just a few scenes later.

Hi toni.. Sometimes some incident(subject) hit on our subconscious mind, then its very hard to come out from such situation. Those incident(subject) may come from real world or fictional. the story of movies or novels are living on your subconscious mind till date. hence you are observing everything from that point of view. Unless considering them as story, then it will be very hard to come out from it. All the best.

LoL there is nothing to worry about all such things, though you may have seen a change in your beloved son that's something good right so you should rejoice instead of being sad that you son has done something interesting for his mom. A certain change may be inspired by some books or may be some emotional movies may be your son may have gone through such things that he may feel like hugging and kissing you. Its just your negative thought that makes you feel that you son may not live further its nothing like that, infact its a tendency of human when something positive happens they will always look at the negative point of it worrying, this usually happens with lot of people. Dont think about that think that you have the luckiest son who is showing lot of affection and love towards you, You are a very Lucky mom.

I'm not a mother but every time I have to go somewhere else especially when I have to leave our house to go to the city to work for the week or for the whole month, I always give my mom a kiss and I always take a good look at both my mom and dad before taking my trip, and in a way I always feel sad. I know that my mom always worry about me and I'm so glad that she has that affection for both my brother and d I. But in any situation, worse things happen and it is something inevitable and out of our control. We just need to be happy that we had a special parting moment every time we go to some place is. Your son is so sweet. It's okay to worry but it's better to always hope for the best right?

I know what you mean. When people do things out of character, we take notice. I can understand where you would get a little spooked about that. I might too, if I were one to really notice a difference.
