Now im new to this whole website and i have earned 10 cents but i want to start making maybe 20 dollars a week. i know if you comment on peoples discussions you get payed but i don't want to sit here all day and comment on everything when half the time im either not interested or not sure how to respond. if anyone (who has gotten the hang of this) can help me i would really appreciate it :D

Anyway, I would like to welcome you to mylot.
I think 20$ is not impossible but I have to warn you, it's going to be hard. There are other ways to earn here, besides commenting, try the tasks tab. I tried a few and then went back to commenting. In your case, 20$ a week will require you to finish task and comment a lot. I'm not trying to discourage you, don't get me wrong. If you have read some of my earlier posts, I was actually aiming for LED TV from my earnings here. Hahaha!
So, anyway, take your time and get to feel things around here. I'm sure you'll enjoy it, I know I do. There are lots to learn and so many things to talk about here. Hehehe! Happy mylotting!

im not saying im going to, im just shooting for that number. Ill take 5 bucks a week and be happy, but 20 would be awesome

Aim for $10 a month. Then you can think about how to get more! It's important to know the 'rules' here and to keep to them, otherwise much time can be wasted on deleted discussions. A guide to what is good and what is not is here: http://www.mylot.com/o/guidelines.aspx
It's also important to be descriptive and to always give quality responses and comments. You only earn for what YOU post, so if you don't come back and reply to the people who respond to your discussions, you will earn very little by them.
