Hi Zelmarq, it's been a while, and it's good to see you..What do you mean by "sore eyes?" Is this pink eye? If so, then in order to prevent getting it, make sure you wash your hands really well and don't touch your own eyes..

He is still around, just not as active as he use to be. So, what is this sore eye thing your co-worker has? Have you found a way to prevent it?

I suppose one should find out what is causing the sore eyes. There can be different kinds of causes, and depending on that one would have to find the right medicine for that. But, generally, dry eyes also give sores, and there are good eye-drops for dry eyes. I had tried that , and it worked quite well.

Hi! I'm a person who's prone with sore eyes so I always make it a point to avoid persons with sore eyes as much as possible. But it does not really mean that I believe that if you look to the eye of a person with sore eyes, you'll get infected. That's absurd. But they say the sore eyes virus can be transferred through air so if you're in the direction of the sore eyed person and the wind is blowing, there is a chance you might catch the virus. Also if you touched something that the sore eyed person touched and he/she previously scratched his/her eyes with his/her hand, then you also scratched your eyes with your hand, then you might get the virus. But this is just the belief of many people and I don't know if there are scientific bases for this. But it wouldn't hurt to follow. Also, it will help if you keep clean your hands and avoid scratching your eyes. And always keep yourself refreshed and cooled particularly your eyes.

Hi Zel, I've got one for the past week now. The best way to avoid them is not to look at their eyes (just kidding). Sore eyes is caused by a virus and may be airborne. Still you can avoid the inconvenience by keeping clean at all times. Avoid direct contact with the infected person and maintain a good distance from there.

It is viral, and it is contagious. There is no way you can prevent unless you will see visibly the virus coming near you, hehe. Maybe you can get farther from those office mates of yours who are infected. In case you feel a little pain and swelling, i mean when it is starting to infect you, check on some over the counter eye drops/ointment to further spread it on both your eyes. Take care!

Keep an eye drop, maybe it will help. I've had on & off sore eyes last 2 weeks and until now. I have an eye drop for sore eyes and the redness gone but it comes back alternately. I keep on pouring a drops on my eyes. My sore eyes is kinda weird, it's only redness but not that swollen.

Never touch anything that he/she holds. Try not to be close to him/her at the moment.
