Blogging may be a good source of online money making provided you have enough traffic for your blog.

It can be, but it takes a long time to get established. Blogging itself is fun but making money through it means you need a lot of traffic. When you start blogging, you're nobody and you'll only get a few hits: it takes time and effort to build up your reputation and get your search ranking high enough that people find you for the subject you're writing about. On average, it takes 6-9 months before you have enough traffic to make more than pennies. That can be shorter, of course, if you put in lots of effort with your keyword selection, SEO, publicity and other marketing options. It can be a lot longer if you don't bother with any of that. In summary, yes it can be a good money-maker but (like all things) you have to work hard for it. If you're serious about it - and not just thinking "oh, I'll try it and see" - read the ProBlogger site and book. It'll open your eyes to how much work is involved. As for general blogging advice, there are LOADS of really helpful people here (who also have blogs, often with the advice on them (like mine)), so search around, visit profiles and look at their blogs, ask questions, grab free ebooks wherever you find them... there's lots of free info around!
