Do you always trust your instinct?

Good day Fellow Mylloters, There are times whenever I am thinking to do something, my instinct will somehow pop-up. As there are some ideas that will make me think it twice before proceeding to the thing that I am planning to do. Just like what happened when my mom requested to deliver the food order for her colleague. Before she told me to do so, I already have that in mind that I will gonna deliver the food order, then after a minute, I feel a little hesitant to do it and an idea pop-out from me that maybe my mom's colleague is not at their home. After that, I am thinking that I will just deliver the food at the nearby neighbor in order for my mom's colleague can get it as soon as they reach home, but, again after a minute, I feel somehow hesitant to go and proceed for the delivery. Although I already felt the instinct, I still go and make the delivery since my mom requested and told me to deliver the food orders quickly. For this reason, I went out and proceed. Then I found out that my mom's colleague was not there at their home as well as the nearby neighbor. For this reason, I have told to myself that I have should follow what my instinct was. And upon reaching home, I also told my mom that before she instructed me to deliver those, I already felt that instinct and should listen to what I have felt. How about you, do you always follow your instinct? Do you listen to what your instint told you?

Good day airasheila. There is a lot of sense in what you say.Our instincts guide us most of the time. But in the present case and in jobs even though our instinct suggests a course of action. We are duty bound to follow procedures as we'll get the blame if things go awry.I follow my instinct but in work i have to follow due procedures else I'll be blamed for any lapse.

Hi there picjim, Noted. Your response is really appreciated. You are absolutely right, there are due procedures that are needed to follow in an office.

The few times in the past when I have not trusted my own instincts, I have regretted it terribly. Now if I have an instinct, I follow it.

I actually do not trust my instincts. I always try to analyze the pros and cons of an intended course of action and, where possible and applicable, quantify the basis of such decision.

Yes, some times... :) Sometimes I can see what will happen sometime later, for example, somebody gets hurt or some activities will end with somebody crying or in the hospital... :/ But sometimes, my instinct fails... but its rare when it fails xD :P

Yes I always trust my instincts. There are times when I get this strong feeling about something, and for some reason, I cannot follow my instincts, I usually end up regretting ignoring it. I once told my friend to do something, but she ignored it, and obviously, I only advised her, so I couldn't force it. She ended up saying 'I should have listened to you'. Many times, even in my own life, I get the urge not to do something just before I am about to do, and, yes, you have guessed it right, i regret it later. So my advice to you, and to myself, is to listen and follow your instincts, because I believe it is your sub-conscious mind giving you a hint of what is going to happen, and whether you believe it or not, your sub-conscious mind is much more at-one with the universe than you imagine. Even if it turns out that your instinct was wrong, I would be happier in knowing I did what my heart wanted me to do rather than doing something against my better judgement.

I listen to intuition and nurture it regularly a sharpened intuition, beats intellect or logic just as the unconscious is explored in order to expand consciousness the veil is getting thinner each day relying on logic alone will not suffice

I think instincts are there to somehow remind us of what happened prior and we should reconsider our actions. Though, some say that our instinct plays a very important role in our lives, I could definitely say that it's not always right. I have proven myself wrong several times because of learning too much on my instinct instead of trusting the person to say or do whatever he/she says. There have been times when I have slapped myself in the face for believing too much in what I felt and I have had countless humiliations to the point of breaking relationships because of it. Therefore, should we listen to our instincts or not? I think each one of us opt to think about it but not to trust it for certainty. There are things bound to happen regardless and it's called fate. But I think what's important here is to listen to instincts when it comes to danger or trouble. Otherwise, nothing would hurt as bad, I guess. Have a great MyLot experience today!

Always listen to your instinct. Instinct serve as a kind of guide to our life, even to our endeavors if it works for you. It does happened to me when i was in college during the time of exam it will pop-up just as you said that i should concentrate on this area i wouldn't listen which will still happened and i start blaming myself. Now i have learned to listen to my instinct and it works for me. Have a nice day :/

I would say....always follow your instincts or those gut feelings. I believe that is how God speaks to us or how we connect to the Universe, the all that is-ness, which I call God. I will also say that your mom had asked you to do something so in that regard, you could have just done it as you did (which is obedient and what you should do) or possible had a conversation with your mom about your feelings. This may or may not have led you to a different outcome depending on where your mother stands on such issues of intuition. I think many of us are taught very early on to listen and think more with our head, than our hearts but I believe that we are made in the image and likeness of our Creator and that which is within him is within me so I believe in powerful urgings and inklings.

You should jus be careful when you get such intuitions. You should not depend on them. You should just check in such cases.

No, I don't always follow my instinct. Sometimes it fails. But if your instinct tells you not to go because there is a threat in your life that might happen...then don't go..
