I absolutely love the Kroger value brand Sugar Frosted Flakes. I had not had any for awhile so this morning when I went to the store, I decided that I would buy some to snack on while I was working on here today. I am so disappointed! I get them home, open them, and take the first bite and they are so stale that you can't stand to eat them. I live in a rural area so I am not driving 24 miles round trip to return them to the store today. I called to complain to the customer service number and they are not open. I am so disappointed as I was so looking forward to this delicious snack! Have you ever bought anything at the store that was stale when you opened it? IF so, what did you do?

The biggest problem is many times you can get things that are not always the freshest when you go to try and open them, and a lot of them are still considered no where near the pull date as well. I have even received some Jerky from the Jerky company I am doing my Business with and not had some of the freshest from time to time. What is annoying for us is some of the discount places that offer cheaper stuff having almost expired dates on them when you buy anything so you need to watch that for sure. But hope you got some satisfaction from the company when you called.

I talked to someone today but they were not helpful. She asked if I was sure that I had just purchased them. I said "yes, as I eat the entire box the day I buy it", she gasped!

Hi. carolscash. Yes, I have bought many foods that were stale. There was once a store that was owned by an older married couple. They used to have stale foods in their store like donuts and anything that was yummy. Well, I had to take back many food items that were stale too. I can't stand coming home with stale foods. I recently bought a couple of Vitamin waters that were stale. The drinks were expired since last month. I could not make myself drink any of them, so I threw them away. I guess that is why I have this habit of checking out my foods when I buy them, because I just may never know what may actually be stale. I hate to do this while I am in the grocery store, but I have no choice but to. There is actually one grocery store in my home town that tends to have stale items, I just wonder if any other customer has noticed them being stale just like I have too.

These had a good date on them but they are really stale and I am sure it is from sitting in a hot semi while being shipped to the store, but it is still crazy to spend money and not be able to eat them.

I hate it when that happens. I call the store I bought them from and tell them on my next trip in, I will be bringing it back for a refund.

I sent an email to the company and I am calling them on Monday to see what I should do as they have to make it right. I used to work at a Kroger store and they do not like their customers to be unhappy.

I tell you what I have the biggest trouble with around here...bread. That stuff goes bad so quick that it has to be old on the shelf. It doesn't taste bad when I open it, but within a day or two...it's terrible. I am bad for not checking dates...I guess I figure it's the store's job to insure their customers have fresh product on the shelf. There's usually not alot I can do about it...I try putting it in the fridge to keep it fresh.

I usually do not have much trouble with bread but I find that the milk usually goes bad before the expiration date. I hate to buy something and it not be good. My daughter and I bought buns today and she said that they were all molded.
